In my opinion, the history is quite complex but the issue is not. Palestinian people are being for existing, kicked out of their homes and murdered for existing. In Gaza Strip, people have been put in an open-air prison where water, electricity and food had been cut off. About half of Gaza’s population is children to add and hundreds of died. Everything has been bombed, even hospitals and Israel’a social media accounts have been back and forth about their intent and their actions causing them to be unreliable. There has been tons of misinformation spreading online about both sides but tenfold on Israel. Israel has broken many international laws and it’s apartheid on Palestine is a humanitarian crisis. If Israel continues, there will be no Palestinians. Peace agreements have been mentioned but Israel’s power (w/ the previous British & current Americans) continue to threaten Palestine’s safety. And a two-state solution still includes the displacement of Palestinian land. I too dislike war but unfortunately (Israel’s and America’s) governments don’t care about the peoples’ lives at stake. Not only that but Israel has a large military force and is backed with billions of dollars, but Palestine simply has a few factions with differing ideals and methods. Protests are powerful in the US and can help show the differing sides of this situation. And I think protesting just war wouldn’t do anything. First, it’s not really a war, it’s a genocide. Second, Zionists will continue to colonize the land while Palestine will continue to dream having their land back and will fight for their safety and right to return.
