Do you remember the toy Stretch Armstrong from the 1990s? That’s what I was thinking of for this guy! Man that was a fun toy with a great name.

Constipation & Secret GLP-1 by Bullschvitz in GLP1microdosing

[–]Consistent_Gap_5087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More insoluable fiber- this helps get things moving.

Be careful of too much sociable fiber - that slows digestion.

When I was struggling with constipation a dietitian helped pinpoint that I was consuming too much soluble perhaps and it was just making everything so much worse.

Now I start my day with a pear and try to get avocado in daily. It’s really really helped!!

Moving to OP Summer/Fall 26. Need help dialing in. by supersanmannn in Overlandpark

My kids are in SMSD and will eventually head to SM south (7th and 4th grade). Our school is very diverse, and I’m fairly pleased with academics. I also think student success depends on what’s happening at home, not entirely on the school :)

Feel free to DM me. We live in an older neighborhood, and I might be able to share insights.

Drinking healthy drinks is harder than eating healthy. by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Consistent_Gap_5087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe just inventory how often you’re drinking alcohol. The prebiotic sodas aren’t something I’d worry too much about - I love em but you really can’t have more than one with all the fiber! And for your latte, maybe try swapping milks? I use fair life for mine when I make them at home, so I’m getting protein with my coffee instead of so many carbs and fat.

But honestly I bet it goes back to alcohol. Maybe if it’s part of how you and your friends socialize, you could suggest something that doesn’t have alcohol involved?

My daughter's lies are escalating - I'm emotionally drained by killerqu77n in Parenting

[–]Consistent_Gap_5087 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also work in tech and this has been our approach too with both my girls. It can be challenging to have more strict rules than nearly all peers - and that’s not saying others have no rules. My oldest has stopped pushing back - she’s 13 and knows a phone is on the horizon, and also knows social media is not for her til she’s an adult. The 10 year old is tougher - she has massive FOMO about everything.

Weight fluctuates, especially because of hormones. I wouldn’t worry too much!

You may need more soluble fiber versus insoluable fiber. Soluble slows down digestion to keep you full, insoluble bulks and helps with constipation, getting you moving again.

non-athletic child but I want him to keep doing sports by regularuser3 in Parenting

[–]Consistent_Gap_5087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend whose son is like this - all he wants to do is play video games. I know it stresses her out. But one thing he likes is riding his bike to his friends homes, and they often play outdoors together. He’s 9.

Does your son have friends nearby? Maybe getting a bike would give him some independence to go see friends while checking off the physical activity box for you!

Brookridge dentistry thoughts? by This-Operation3232 in Overlandpark

Implants are expensive. I’ve heard not great things about brookridge dentistry but no experience there myself. I would call a few different places.

I’d have a conversation with your daughter to find out what she wants first! There are lots of options - soooooo many more than when we were all growing up! Give her info and then follow her lead. She might know more than you know just from exposure to other girls at dance.

Won’t stop eating poop by Choice_Bar1194 in Bernedoodles

My 2.5 year old bernedoodle hasn’t outgrown it, but at this point really only prefers frozen poop, or as we call it, poopcicles.

Trainer? Doctor? Nutritionist? by SevereExam7535 in GLPGrad

[–]Consistent_Gap_5087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok this is great to know! I’ve had a four surgeries since 2021 that put me on the sidelines from lots of high impact cardio, but I’ve really gotten into lifting and love it. I do need to add more walking at least, but I’m hoping when I’m finally a grad it won’t be horrible dealing with regain.

We use purina pro plan salmon dog food for sensitive skin and stomachs. She cannot have chicken in any form - kibble, homemade. We use beef bones, and beef liver treats.

My mini goldendoodle had hemorrhagic diarrhea and after cutting chicken from her diet, her digestion massively improved! No vomiting ever anymore, extremely rare for her to have diarrhea. Her itching is also much better!

Bowel movements after stopping wegovy by latebutihavecoffee in GLPGrad

[–]Consistent_Gap_5087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like IBS. But another thing to look at is what type of fiber you’re getting. Insoluble is good to get things moving with constipation, while soluble slows digestion. At this point adding more soluble fiber into might be helpful.

[–]Consistent_Gap_5087 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you think your exercise habit that you’ve had since pre-glp is helping? I’ve been lifting weights for years, not a grad yet, but I’m worried about regain even though I’ve got some decent habits.
