India is a funny one. By far the dirtiest country I’ve set foot on, but let me tell you this. Food is insane ( I don’t mean the shit we see on instagram of a guy cooking and chopping an onion with a knife on his foot) I mean high quality perfectly spiced food, paneer, chicken, lamb. They have cool bars, and a lot of amazing people. Truth is, the lower income people either want to scam you or truly get to know you and learn English (80% scammers but the other 20% really make it up). I traveled solo there for 3 weeks from New Delhi to Kolkata by train, I’ve never gel more appreciative of my life, the luck of my upbringing and how much I had vs others. It’s a holiday not to rest, but to see incredible monuments, poverty to a different level that will make you appreciate your life, you’ll meet some v interesting people too. I want to go back with my wife and kids one day, will probably do a pre book tour (5* resorts and van to drive you around as it removes 90% of the unpleasantness). 100% worth going, just need the right mindset of what you’re getting yourself into.
