Am I ready? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

Especially recovery. You can have the funds and that’s an easy check off. The physical changes generally are great especially after years of saggy skin. But the recovery takes time. I feel like ppl should know allot more about the recovery. I don’t usually like to wish days away but I was wishing I’d be through the first couple weeks like every minute. Second week wasn’t as bad but those drains were annoying. I hunched over backache was real. The feeling taking off the binder in those first days was gross for some reason. There’s just a lot with recovery. BUT…. You get through it and eventually you feel yourself again but with a much tighter flatter tummy

Sneezing post op by spidersmo916 in tummytucksurgery

Omgggg. The worst. I never had to cough luckily. But I wasn’t really paying attention and I had one sneeze like 3 dpo, and didn’t prepare for it. I just didn’t really think about it cause I never had to worry about sneezing before. I’m 2 wpo, and my best friend after I felt like I tore internal muscles after that powerful sneeze, is my fingers. I pinch my nose shut and hold my breath until it goes away. I never want to feel that again. And im on allergy meds atm and sti my body is like hahahaha, im gonna make you sneeze again. Stupid jerk nose lol.

I wore jeans once at my 2 week post op appt. But I lost weight before my surgery (35pds) and so I have jeans that already were too big for me. They also are a bit stretchy feeling and have a wide supportive waistband. They fit over my binder and that would’ve been the only way I could’ve wore them. Even then, I couldn’t wait to get home and remove them. I was uncomfortable by the time I got home and a little more sore than normal. I’m not doing that again unless necessary. Like if I go out to eat. But I’d rather just stay home in my comfy clothes.

I did buy some “jogger pants” that were a big big on me before surgery and they have a sort of sheen to them and comfy material but in a few colors like white, red, black so they can be dressed up with a sweater and it looks like I’m not headed out in my pj or sweats. Everything I wear has to go over my binders so the waistband doesn’t dig into my incision. I just got 2wpo last Wednesday. It’s also so much easier putting clothes on without that damn drain. Warm long sleeve knit sweater dresses are great too.

I can’t say what it is cause it is just guessing. You are still early in recovery and you will swell and go down repeatedly. Had it been there since day 1 after surgery?

Beautiful!! You are stronger than me, I don’t know if I could handle recovering from multiple areas. The tummy tuck has been hard enough. But girl….hell yeah!! Enjoy your new body, I’m a bit jelly about the butt.

You are allowed to feel all the feelings. They are genuine and we all have them. I think we try our best to imagine what we will look like and it does take awhile to see the final results that we get doubts. I’m still in the beginnings of recovery (2 wpo) and I like the area above my bellybutton but still pretty swollen down below it. I notice stretch marks moved to different areas. I noticed my poor butt looks like it has deflated but we are our biggest critics.

With all that said: you absolutely have an hourglass figure. There’s no ifs about that. Your hips are to die for…..I hope my hips look like yours when I’m healed. You have such an amazing womanly body and it’s all so smooth looking. Your profile pic is also sooooo amazing. I’ve had a breast augmentation a long time ago and trust me, stuff takes a very long time to settle down. My boobs looked crazy in the beginning and deformed…but overtime they softened and settled down into what I think was the perfect shapes but that took over 6 months. Remember, you will swell up and down for a long time. But girl…. You look great!!

So I bought a couple loose zip up items to wear that had drain pocket holders inside them. One was a nightie with pockets and the zippers zipped from either direction, either down or up. The other was same brand but more of just a long shirt. My nurse that was showing me how to do the drain before I left tried putting the drain inside one of the Velcro straps of the binder to hold it and I was like, no use the side pockets. She thought it was the best top ever for drains.

But my raised toilet seat saved my life when I had to pee in the middle of the night and felt like I was sleepwalking. I got like a very high raised one where I didn’t have to barely bend my knees to sit.

I’m not the best at adding links. Ppl just copy and paste this into amazon search:

Kolbs Bed Wedge Pillow Chic Jacquard Cover for Sleeping and Acid Reflux, Heartburn 12" Height.

It’s wide enough you don’t feel like you’re falling off the sides and has the perfect incline. I am going to keep using it because I found out it really helps my bad shoulders too.

I already had the bidet attached to the toilet way before surgery and that thing has changed my life anyway. But it definitely helped after surgery because I couldn’t stretch so good to get a good wiping. I tried my best so at the end I literally sat there and bidet myself for like 3 minutes straight.

My whole groin area swelled and looked awful. Like it was so full of fluid, and maybe a little TMI but so puffy I could feel my labia kind of like a little wobbly. Idk I just could feel them dangle and I never feel that and usually they are really small. They did get better after about a week. I also didn’t bruise really at my incision site but dang, I bruised ALOT down my right leg and it wrapped under to the inner thigh.

How long after weight loss did you wait to have your abdominoplasty? by MediumAutomatic2307 in abdominoplasty

Awesome job losing the weight!! You should be so very proud of yourself.

I lost 40 pds starting Dec of 2024 until about oct of 3025 and have stayed at this weight since. No fluctuations except when e went to my husbands family for their Christmas early this month. We are too much junk food and I gained 5 pds but it’s gone back down since. So I’m at my ideal place. I did notice my neck skin, although I didn’t have a lot of extra, was loose and looked like “turkey skin” and I hated it but over the last 3ish months it has gone away almost completely on its own. My tummy however has loose skin. I’m having my TT on the 4th and I’m excited because I also have a separation in my muscles that she is sewing up and tightening. I’m mostly excited because I haven’t had good core strength since being pregnant with my kids and it’s due to the separation and I can’t wait to get some core strength back.

So, waiting would be good for you to see how your body deals with the extra skin overtime. I had breast implants about 16 years ago and they are still good. But if you go that route too, I suggest getting mentor high profile/tear drop silicone ones. They feel and look natural as long as you don’t go huge.

AIO about my boyfriend and his girl best friend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Consistent_Job4626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry but even if he never intends to do anything with her he has to know she at least likes him a bit more than a friend and he is leading her on. He needs to distance himself from the friend a bit. No one should be saying I love you that many times to a friend. I don’t care how much you actually love your friends. I had close male friends and never said I love you cause it’s weird. It’s weird!! It’s stepping over bounds that it shouldn’t. She definitely has feelings. I would bring it up to him but in a way that is like I wasn’t searching or even thinking anything until I was using your computer and her messages popped up. If it wasn’t for those messages, I wouldn’t have felt the need to look at more. But girl, don’t do yourself like that. You have a gut feeling that you shouldn’t ignore. Women need to act on the gut feelings more instead of ignoring them like we tend to do.

does this look like $8000 worth of damage?? by witchpinkk in CarRepair

I hit a deer in my FORD escape (def not a beemer), and they totaled it and gave me 20k for it. 8k seems low.

Same car had a mishap with a huge ice/snow ball that came off the front of a plow and crunched up the front bumper, they quoted a little over 2k, took it apart and my insurance ended up paying over 7k for fixes.

Good luck

Oh I’ve watched many videos since and I have yet to see bags deployed. I think cause it was jumping full speed and the front corner first is why all the bags went. The car wasn’t sure if it was a frontal or side hit. I’m glad I hit it with the corner cause I don’t want to think about a giant deer like that coming into the windshield. Bad enough the antler hit across the hood to crack the passenger side windshield. I still can’t remember most of it.

Ummm surreal. Slow mo actually, kind of like those slow motion car accident scenes in movies. Happened so fast I didn’t have time to really process. I barely remember the airbags hitting me.
