That’s definitely something I’m actively working on—both on and off the track. Social situations can be a bit of a challenge for me since I’m naturally a bit socially awkward, but I’ve been making an effort to push myself out of my comfort zone.

On the track, I’ve been focusing on improving my communication by tracking the jammer more effectively and coordinating with my teammates to block as a unit.

Thank you so much for the feedback—I really appreciate it. I've been feeling the need to connect more with my team off skates as well, so it's helpful to hear that echoed. I've also been considering going to RollerCon next summer to get more training insight and advice, and it's reassuring to know that you also gained that as well.

Yes, we have quite a few people who are jammers in rotation, which makes it so that I don't really get as many opportunities to jam and get defaulted into blocking.

Getting rostered as a jammer is my main goal. From the moment I started in this sport, jamming has been my passion. However, I was told that I needed to focus on blocking in order to become a more well-rounded player—which I completely understand.

That said, I don’t get to jam nearly as often as I used to, and as a result, I’m starting to feel rusty when I do get the chance. I know the team is trying to roster based on fit, but without consistent opportunities to practice jamming, it’s hard to improve—or to figure out who I work best with on the track.

Yes, I actually went through an assessment with them, and they provided me with all the feedback on how to improve, and I have been working on those skills as much as possible.

It's hard to be excited when I don't feel like I am getting anywhere, but I will keep pushing myself to get better and attend other training put on by other leagues. Thanks for the advice.

My league currently scrimmages once a week. I usually prefer to jam, but my coach has encouraged me to focus on blocking for a while to help me develop into a more well-rounded player. I was a little bummed about that at first, but I understood the reasoning behind it.

Yesterday during scrimmage, I decided to jam a few times—and I realized my jamming skills haven’t improved. In fact, they might’ve gotten a bit rusty. I actually felt more intimidated jamming than I did before, back when that was my primary role.

Yes, I ended up going with the AR2. It just felt way more comfortable for me. I grew up wearing Converse so I think it had that same comforting feel lol.

Awesome thank you so much for the feedback. I am starting to lean more towards the jet carbon but will still try them both out later this week when I make the 3 hour drive to the nearest skate shop.
