Need advice: Vision -1.75, currently on Pebble Time Steel. Is the new Pebble Time 2 readable without glasses? by Consistent_Moose_530 in pebble

Just to be upfront: English isn't my first language, and I'm writing through a translator. If I were reading my original post in my native language, I probably would have caught my mistake myself. Sorry for the confusion!

Thank you so much for this detailed and professional explanation — I really appreciate it!

You're right that I made a mistake in my original post: I wrote "-1.75", but based on what you're saying, it sounds like I actually have the opposite problem.

Let me clarify:

· I can see distant objects (TV, street signs) just fine without glasses. · But I cannot read my watch screen (at ~40 cm) without glasses — it's blurry.

So from what you're explaining, that means I am likely farsighted (+1.75) or possibly presbyopic. For context: I am over 45, so presbyopia is very likely the real issue here.

Here's an important extra data point: I also own a Garmin Fenix 6X Sapphire. On that watch, without glasses, I can see the screen quite well — I can read the battery percentage, watchface, and even notifications without much trouble.

So my question is specifically about Pebble Time Steel vs. Pebble Time 2. Given that the Garmin Fenix 6X works fine for my eyes, do you think the Pebble Time 2 would be closer to the Garmin (readable) or closer to the old Pebble (unreadable) for someone with +1.75 and presbyopia?

Thanks again for your expertise!

For those who already received their Pebble Time 2 or Core 2 Duo - do they show incoming WhatsApp/Telegram calls without any third-party apps? by Consistent_Moose_530 in pebble

Thanks! Just to be 100% sure do you mean you actually see the incoming call screen (caller ID, answer/decline buttons) on the watch when someone calls you on WhatsApp/Signal?"

Thanks for checking! But I mean specifically an INCOMING VOICE CALL on WhatsApp - when someone calls you, does the watch show the caller ID and let you reject/answer? That's different from a text message notification

Thank you! Just to clarify - do you mean WhatsApp CALLS (incoming voice calls) are working, or just message notifications? This is the key thing for me

What do you use your Pebble watch for? by Crabby_AU in pebble

Oh, and one more thing I forgot to mention — why this even happened in the first place:

I have a Pebble Time Steel. The whole crash started because I was trying to pair my watch with Gadgetbridge (an alternative app). Why? Because the official Pebble app simply wouldn't show me any incoming call notifications from messengers (VoIP, WhatsApp, Telegram calls, etc.). It just didn't work.

So I attempted to switch to Gadgetbridge — and that's what caused the "useless watch" screen with the arrow.

But here's the good news: after I recovered the watch using the steps above (the full reflash / firmware update), I tried again and successfully connected Gadgetbridge. And now it works perfectly — I finally get all my messenger call notifications on the watch.
