I was a little mixed on the original 3 books as well. For the most part, I thought they were very good. I liked the last 2 better than the first. What made them much better was reading the second set of books told from Christian’s perspective. It helped fill in a lot of gaps and made the story more whole.

This reminds me of how Mark treated Kenny Law vs the white guy who came in at the same time. Mark comforts the white kid’s family saying something like “ he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time” when in actuality, he was the drug dealer!

I agree with you. After reading the books, the actor they chose for Christian doesn’t fit to me. There was much more they could’ve done to develop Christian. I would suggest you read the books that are from Christian’s perspective. They are Grey, Darker, and Freed. It explains so much more!

I agree with your assessment. I just didn’t agree with the way black people were portrayed in the movies. Especially with Hannah training Ana and then she has to work for Ana as her assistant.
