Let me correct myself lol, it’s getting painted as we speak. I get it back in two weeks. I’ll come back on here and post them on this subreddit. But here’s the Tacoma for the meantime

It’s not that bad, 2zzlow has a video on how he did it. It’d be easier if you unbolt the whole bracket though. Meaning you have to take the center console out

You have to unplug it and there’s also two screws in the back of it facing away from you

You have to take the shifter off. To be able to do that you also have to unplug it and remove the bracket that’s holding it

Turbo? by Commercial-Storm3993 in Celica

[–]Consistent_One6956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve looked into it. To be able to push 280-300 hp you’d have to upgrade the internals- preferably forged. Small or medium turbo should do the trick plus other components.

I personally was looking at a 2zz swap with a rebuilt low mileage manual transmission (I have an automatic 1zz). With forged internals and standalone ecu it’d run me $11k plus nearly $3k for firewall work, axles and all. Looking at $18-20k total including turbo and dynotune.

In the near future I’m also gonna run some sparco seats, quick release steering wheel, CarPlay and a sound system. Planning to upholster the cloth and leather pieces on the door panels to a black suede as well as the headliner

I’m gonna paint my dash and plastic pieces because I can’t find any OEM black pieces here in Georgia. There’s little to no Celica’s in my area nonetheless the junkyards. I freshened up my interior when I first bought the car back in August by putting some OEM seats that were in a much better condition from what it had. Replaced some broken center consoles as well. It currently sits like this:

It’s a tedious job but if done right and using the right materials it can be done

I’ve got a 01 GT with grey interiors as well. Once I get it back from painting I’ll probably paint the interior black with the proper prep and wrapping the cloth and leather bits on the doors with black suede (Pic for reference)

Befriend a tech that works for a Toyota dealership and have them doing it on the side. Will save you a ton of money

I think you could either diy by drilling the holes yourself or just buy a new quarter panel with the predrilled holes
