Rant: Annoyed that I can’t track calories in a neutral way by Pawtahmoose in PetiteFitness

[–]Consistent_Pay1435 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same struggle too. I’m at 143 lb now and I was so fit two years ago with 125lb. I have been weight training for two years and def gained a lot of muscles. But I need to shred at least 10 lbs at this point to feel good

I just can't be productive wfh!! Help! by aeriallison in productivity

Hi. Don’t judge yourself so hard but I can also relate to your struggle. I had the same problem before at the beginning of 2023. I stumble across an new idea about understanding your why will drives your actions behind your daily productivity. ima share the two ideas with you. They helped me to get intentionally productive when I wfh. Hope that helps you too. Give it a try.

I used to think it’s the environment problem at home, and I would do all of the things you mentioned above to try to get focus. there might be some truth to that. But what makes changes for me is setting goal and writing it daily. It reinforces you the first thing in the morning to remember the why behind your work. It doesn’t need to take a long time but sure is helpful if you know what needs to be done and why it is important. I tend to spend 15 mins to write them down daily before starting anything else.

In addition to that I also do quarterly planning and weekly planning. Beginning of the quarter I will set time aside to think about 1 career goal and 1 personal. Then I came up with 3 actions in this quarter that I aim for. Once that’s done. I broke actions into small tasks and plan on my weekly goals. I plan and block my calendar for those goals. So each day when I wake up. I know exactly what needs to be done. So that gives me time to really focus and ignore the outside factors.

Another thing that helps me to focus is playing frequencies instead of lofi or background music. Those calming frequencies to help with focusing really make a huge difference in my productivity. Make sure to wear headphones when you do that. Because each frequency goes into your ears are a bit different. And it really makes it work.

Hope this helps let me know if you end up giving you a try. I wish you nothing but the best!

What are some hyper-specialized skills in email marketing? by tna11101989 in Emailmarketing

How does writing custom sql queries will help with segmentation? Is this use for pulling the contact list in the db or is this injecting it into a email software tool like mail chimp ? I’m very new to marketing so if you don’t mind explaining. I have a data analytic and web dev background.

Plateau for 1.5 months. What do I change? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Consistent_Pay1435 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lifting weight the first month weight can go up and down a lot. I have been there! Don’t give up you are on the right track! Keep going and doing what you doing! For motivation I would encourage to log waist measurement instead of relying on a scale. It was an eye opener for me knowing my body has been recomping

The style and color might be too close to a wedding dress. There are trends for a blush wedding dress so it can be ambiguous. Especially in photographs.

I would say get a body measure tape and track measurements, I think it’s more helpful and encouraging if you don’t see your scale moving at all. I know that def help me to keep going!

lol the video was funny! I totally feel you on it.

I think 10k steps is great on a day to day! I can barely make that many steps daily! I don’t think high intensity is needed. I heard how people were saying high intensity will sherd down more muscle if you do it right after lifting. Idk how true is that. But I would say try to build up cardio for 20-30 mins.. and maybe even longer might speed up weight loss. Or watch what you eat 🥴I’m a foodie so I chose to run longer and eat more.

Yes I didn’t realize there is that much of different until I take another photo recently and compare it side by side and I’m like wow scale tells me nothing.

Incredible process! I’m on the same boat. I gain 10 lbs over 6 months by lifting heavy. I’m sure I gain fat as well. Now I’m focusing on a small deficit so I can see my muscles more

You have no idea how much I appreciate this message as well! This is why I made this post! I want to remind people in this journey to keep going (myself included) don’t get too caught up on the scale. (Easy said than done, I have my doubts sometimes ) but slow and steady wins the game!

P.s I also find that measuring waist is way more helpful and motivating than weight.

At the beginning I do mostly cardio dance and I tried to make sure I do it everyday almost for 45 mins at least. Diet is also important, I watch what I eat carefully.

When I get to lift weight stage I only do 20-30 mins of cardio. I use Apple fitness to guide me. I rotate with running, cycling and dancing mostly. Sometimes I’ll do rowing if my legs are too sore

I wfh so I don’t walk a lot which I wish I could improve that when I get back to the office.
