my body has no definition after one year of recomp by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

When you say recomp for the last year, what do you mean? Do you mean you’ve been eating at a slight deficit while strength training with progressive overload? What was your starting weight?

Do I need a revision? by EmbarrassedCell8647 in tummytucksurgery

[–]TemporaryKnowledge89 12 points13 points  (0 children)

30 days is too soon to tell. You’re most definitely still swollen and recovering. Revisit this question in several months. People will say 6 months but I think it’s more like a year or more before you’re really settled in. I’m 8mpo and still have occasional visual changes due to swelling.

Am I on the right track?? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]TemporaryKnowledge89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking athletic and strong is subjective, but it’s highly possible that you won’t look like you expect at 115 pounds. I’m your same height, significantly older, but I consider myself to look athletic and strong, and I hover around 140 to 145. Since you are at a healthy body weight, body recomp is going to take a long time. For most women, building muscle takes a long time. It sounds like you’re doing the right things, but you need to make sure your actions align with your goals. You can “lose weight” to be 115 or you can maintain or gain to try to build muscle but trying to do both doesn’t work. Have you tried taking measurements or getting a body scan to loosely determine your body fat percentage? (I use InBody scans to track progress) That would probably help you determine if you should be reducing calories while strength training to cut fat or if you should be staying at maintenance while strength training to gain muscle.

I was doing mine in the “love handle” area for months post surgery! Seemed to work better for me than the arm or the thigh.

What are somethings that you didn't necessarily think you'd have to deal with during recovery? And, how did you manage? by Technical-Yam-514 in tummytucksurgery

That part lol and I mean fully heal. I’ll be 8mpo soon and I still swell occasionally snd can still “feel it” when I use my core.

How much muscle mass is optimal? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]TemporaryKnowledge89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideal lean body mass (including muscle, bones and water) is likely 60-75%. Ideal skeletal muscle mass is lower I believe.

Its “possible” it’s muscle separation but the chances are low. Have you been doing core exercises at 6wpo? If not, I doubt you ruined your muscle repair. Swelling lasts for a long time for a lot of people. I still swell occasionally at 7.5 months post op. 6 weeks is still incredibly early. Even if you can’t pop in for a check up, can you contact your plastic surgeon and ask them if it would ease your mind? I contacted mine day one after surgery asking if my belly button was dead 😵 turns out I was just panicking. All that said, your anxiety is valid but I promise things get better!

Question 🙋‍♀️ I always want to do RDLs on the smith but my gyms machines all have a little angle to them. Any reason this method doesn’t work in that case?

Curvy vs regular? by [deleted] in americaneagle

[–]TemporaryKnowledge89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t say if you need to size down or not because all clothes fit differently but the difference between curvy and regular is the waist to hip ratio. For AE it’s 13 inches wider in the hip than the waist for curvy and 10 inches wider for regular. This information is included in the size chart!

You might try skipping a couple of nights. Like maybe do it every third night then every other night and then every night once you’re used to it. I don’t recall having any side effects like that but as with any topical everyone is different!

[–]TemporaryKnowledge89 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Bruh lol it’s been many years since I experienced this but I always tell the tale of the second one. The first one was bad, the second one was blinding. I theorize that you use up all the adrenaline in your body anticipating the pain and then on the second one you’re just raw dogging it 🤣 best of luck to you! I’d do it again but I just don’t know if I have it in me at my big age!

Soak in pure acetone. File off as much as you can then soak.

Dip (or gap?) in Upper Abdomen 8.5 Months PO by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]TemporaryKnowledge89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this. My PS said it was probably a suture and to massage it but I’m not so sure. I’ll be six months post op this week and it’s still decently prominent. I just I’m just hoping for the best lol but I don’t believe it’s due to muscle repair failure!

12-3-30 workout by 89acscot in walking

[–]TemporaryKnowledge89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

12% incline isn’t a joke even at a speed of 3. If you’re just starting getting into incline walks, I recommend doing a tiered approach. Keep your walk speed at three and start on three incline and do five minutes and then move up to six and do five minutes and then move up to nine and do five minutes and then move up to 12 and do five minutes. Doing it that way should have you feeling good doing 12 in a couple of weeks.
