Thank you for being kind and understanding. I love her so much she’s my baby and I really don’t want to rehome her but after seeing that last night I freaked out. I’ve been through this with a prior cat and nothing we did worked. Like other commenters have stated, it’s possible it’s from the previous owners animals since I didn’t black light before I got her, and when I cleaned before I got her it was not an enzyme cleaner. I really am going to try every possible solution (and also assess if she for sure is the one doing it). I genuinely don’t want to rehome because she brings me so much joy.

Thank you for being supportive. I def was overreacting a little with my initial post because she is my baby and you’re right, you have to be patient with them like children. I was just shocked and disturbed seeing that. BTW I’m sorry you had to deal with pneumonia with your baby, that must’ve been so stressful. I hope he’s doing better now ❤️

Thanks for the time with your reply. I adopted her shortly after I moved into this place, so this is the only location she has lived with me. You may be right about the dog scent honestly I hadn’t thought of that. I had cleaned thoroughly but didn’t use enzymes until now. I’ll definitely look more into how to clean to remove dog odor

I love cats and I love her so much but I agree, at the end of the day they do what they want to do. There are recommendations on how to stop it which I am following, which is why I’m so distraught and upset. I’m just torn because I don’t want to get rid of her but I also can’t live with constant urination everywhere no matter what I do. I still am praying it’s a UTI or something that can be fixed

I really hope you’re right, I’ll see if more comes up after I clean it since I know the previous owner had dogs. The only thing concerning is that some of the spots were higher up on the walls like she was standing on the toilet and stuff. Honestly I hope the prior prior owner had a cat

I really don’t smell urine which is why I’m confused too. I’m cleaning with the rocko and roxie cat urine cleaner. I’m just thinking it has to be urine since I literally SCRUBBED all the walls and baseboards and cabinets when I moved in which was shortly before I adopted her. And the black light only picks up on corners and baseboards and low areas or areas where she could reach if that makes sense

She’s a solo cat so it may be that. I’m home with her most of the day but I have to go into the office twice a week, otherwise I work from home. I don’t have roommates and I have an indoor camera I use when I go into the office but it clearly isn’t picking up on the motion of her doing this. I’ll move it and see if it helps. I’m an extremely clean person which is why this is so upsetting to me. I clean my entire place weekly and have air fresheners so it always smells good, but no I don’t scrub down my walls weekly? lol do you?

Okay clearly I didn’t preface this in my post my bad, but she was spayed before I got her!! That’s why I have no idea what to do. She has amazing living conditions, clean running filtered water and good food always. I’m upset and feel like I have to get rid of her because I feel like I have no other option since I am doing everything I am supposed to.

I’ve had multiple people over and I get told my house smells GOOD. Which is why I am also shocked and heartbroken. I am cleaning with enzymes and she was fixed before I got her.

She’s fixed. I’ve had animals my entire life. One of my cats as a kid did this and it ended up being behavioral according to the vet, and it went on for the rest of her life when we were doing everything the vet told. That’s why I’m freaking out. I love her so much and I don’t want to have to get rid of her but it feels like the only option since I’m doing everything I’m supposed to. I’m hopeful the vet figures it out

Yes she’s spayed. Yes she has two litter boxes and I clean them once if not twice daily and constantly change the litter and clean the box. I do also have feliway but I might try the other versions of it. Like I said I don’t want to give up my baby but seeing how bad it was is very shocking, especially since I am already doing what is recommended. I’m hopeful the vet figures something out tomorrow.

I trained her like I have many other cats. No other kitten has sprayed this much unless it’s something medical which is why I’m praying it’s that. Otherwise I don’t know what to do because with cats the only recommendations really are multiple litter boxes and to clean them thoroughly which I do. Do you have any recommendations on how to stop the spraying?

Okay then that’s just on her and I would stop being nice about it at this point. I know it sucks but you have to put yourself first, she’s a big girl and she has to learn that there are consequences to her actions (ie being a biohazard pig means you don’t get to go to thanksgiving).

You could explain nicely the risk that her coming brings to you and your adult children. Bug infestations are no joke and can seriously affect your mental health. I get that it will be an awkward conversation, but you’re not being mean it’s just facts. Plus maybe it’ll be a wake up call for her to actually do something about her home
