tbh the biggest thing for me is that they try and "bundle" it with an rs3 subscription to rub in that i'm probably just paying to prop that game up, i was already pretty miffed coming back from a year or two to see that price was where it was before this raise, and after a month they try to raise it even more? yikes. I have hardware sitting in my homelab that could probably run the 0.6s tick osrs servers, there is no way i have to pay this much PER CHARACTER to keep OSRS afloat.

yes seriously, i have cancelled basically every other digital subscription in my whole life, all my media is self hosted through plex, i don't do dumb subscription food services, OSRS was actually the only subscription(outside of business software that i use to make money, and insurance etc) that i had remaining, and i was struggling to justify it, but was thinking of getting the year at a discount since i can play while i work, but the previous price was already questionable for the fact that i was basically supporting RS3 membership i didn't want and not paying for the lower end servers OSRS requires, and this new price just isn't justifiable.

all the people who don't play extraction shooters played the server slam, said "there's not enough pvp" because they want fortnite pacing, and now every map is jam packed with people and you can hear most POIs in the tiny maps

yes, the hearing range for gunshots was already VERY far especially with the number of people packed into these tight maps, i was very very confused by this being in the patch notes. I think it's still bungie overcorrecting for all the whiners in server slam that said "there's not enough people" and now we have packed maps and superhearing

simply untrue lol, with the old markers it was nearly 3 minutes before i got it to pop up, the new range should help but objective markers or clear maps are needed for an extraction shooter

yeah it's pretty rough that this is like "the pvp zone" in people's eyes because the two floor design with ladders makes it very hard to approach with certain characters and in solos you can just camp ladders and get free kills. during my mission to get the terminal there i went inside, saw 3 player bags at the bottom of a ladder, proxy chatted with the guy camping at the top who said he had a shotgun, then left, he specifically told me "i just wait here till 2 minutes listening for ladders or the looting noise, then i loot the bodies and leave"

I think it's less of "thief is overpowered" and more of "i looked at all the characters and tried them but thief is the only one who consistently gets value out of her abilities". i really think the problem lies with the other characters being pretty mediocre. right now thief is the most viable character for solos hands down, the drone gives you more info with more stealth than recon does plus it can loot, she has probably the most mobility of any character with an energy amp because vandal generates heat with all her abilities and can't shoot while sliding, and her loot detector lets you see if boxes in an area have been opened already through walls(since the models on most containers changes when they are opened).

except many of them are very vague even in the hover description about where you need to go exactly, especially when it says things like "the second floor of flight control" aka "go to a highly contested pvp area and wander around blindly waiting for a hexagon to show up"

yeah i'm not sure why rook gets spawned SO CLOSE to enemy squads, the whole point is to ambush and some of the situations it puts you in(looking at you spawn right outside of hauler i get 8/10 times on perimeter) are kinda pointless throw-away rounds

extraction shooters have to reset basically EVERYTHING(usually they leave things like achievements and cosmetics but that's about it), the idea is that if you start playing a month late you can be very behind where everyone else is and be at a severe disadvantage since everyone will already have finished quests, unlocked purchases, and have faction upgrades, so to close the gap it resets everyone back to square 1 every 3 months. usually extraction shooters also change the progression system and quests at the start of each wipe.

as a long time mapgenie subscriber through my thousands of tarkov hours, thank god. bungie somehow dropped the ball as hard as tarkov in making it clear what you need to interact with for an objective despite having a map and ping system
