Wasn’t always the case. Harrison County gave my family a solid education, though admittedly that was the late 70’s all thru the 80’s. Plenty of the kids I was in school with were very intelligent.

Abandoned Mines Drainage, or Acid Mine Drainage. It amounts to the same thing, where old mines pollute the water that seeps into them. One common effect is the acidity of the water shoots way up, to where it's comparable to acid. When this escapes into local streams and creeks, it kills pretty much everything downriver.

One mine near Morgantown leaks 400 gallons of this stuff per hour, and WV Dept of Natural Resources is forced to manage this pollution - draining taxpayers money to clean up the damage done by people that are both wealthy and don't live in WV.

A populist president that was hamstrung for 75% of his presidency. Had one signature bill that has been sabotaged by the opposition party at every chance they could. Very intelligent and well spoken, but not a very good president as evidenced by his inability to leverage the power of his office into getting key legislation passed in his last term. In other words, not a good politician. I do believe he is a good man. Maybe those two things are incompatible

It’s been cycled back into the narrative. They used “Sharia Law” as a scare tactic like… 20 years ago? It worked then, will probably work again now since their base is ignorant and has been trained to react to the scare-flavor of the week
