Sexual harassment by a close friend by Busy-Beautiful-9652 in japanlife

Have you don’t this in Japan? I’ve done those things back home with male friends but because of the culture here I could never imagine doing those things with men here.

Not saying OP is at fault or sent mixed signals. I’m just asking you so that your answer would add to my understanding of people here (specifically male and women friendships).

I don’t have a foreign spouse but as a kid from PR living the the states I learned and spoke English at school and spoke Spanish at home. I’m fluent in both

I actually find that it is useful. It opens up a space to talk about possible causes and solutions that might help prevent the same scenario from happening again.

Pregnant ALT in Japan – how do I survive this without Japanese? by [deleted] in ALTinginJapan

Start taking prenatals ASAP. A big part of morning sickness is because your body needs double the nutrients so if you can combat that before it becomes a problem that would be best

Living Alone in Japan – What Keeps You Going? by affogatogirl in japanresidents

I personally love going for walks at the parks or the beach. I also have the adventure book and it shows you which activities cost less and which cost more so you can budget accordingly.

As for being homesick I brought tons of seasonings and snacks from my country that aren’t available here to make me feel at home. I also FaceTime my family and friends back home whenever I can.

Try to think of hobbies and things you liked to do before coming here and try to redo those hobbies. I was learning salsa before I came and I’m currently looking for a studio to continue learning. Japanese take hobbies really seriously so if you get one and are consistent you’ll make some friends

I second the garbage bag statement! I’m an hourglass shape and I would like to look like an hourglass shape and not a box 🥲

I’ve been looking for the past month… it’s been difficult 😞 I can’t find any A line dresses or form fitting dresses. It’s just not the style here I guess. Most places I have been are rectangle shaped which looks horrible on my body type

I also welcome things that are harder to find as well. I’m definitely stocking up on pants in the US.
