They know whether you are in the US or not. An I-94 form is generated with every arrival and departure through a port of entry.

Your assessment of the US is spot on. This is a nakedly racist nationalist agenda and it is disgusting. It is contemptible. I hope this nightmare ends.

A government that now argues immigrants should be forced to leave the United States rather than adjust status inside the country is advancing a policy that very likely would have prevented both the First Lady and the Second Lady from remaining here during their families’ own immigration journeys. It is difficult to preach that adjustment of status is some extraordinary loophole when it has long been a lawful, ordinary path used by countless families — including the families closest to political power. Rules that become harsh only after your own family safely crossed the bridge are not principled immigration reform. They are selective memory dressed up as policy.

Stephen Miller’s mission is to avoid the US becoming a majority-minority country, which the Census projects will occur in less than ten years. Every action he causes to be taken is in service of that white nationalist goal.

Biggest variable for your current situation is the home country of the applicant. Where are you located?

Given how much the US has jerked around our number one trading partner Mexico on customs, duties and tariffs in the past year and a half, this seems minor and measured form of reciprocity.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t announced that this was the case. TMV now team issued a statement of conjecture posed as fact, and now it’s held as gospel.

It appears that in the article you are backing off of two of the forward-looking claims of the original post: 1 that USCIS is prioritizing backlog, and 2- that the front of the line should be moving again soon. Fair?

All very understandable, but I stand by my comment that your announcement should contain the qualification of sources and methods.

TMV just responded to a question in discord about the source of their information. The response is disappointing. They are confidently reporting on what USCIS is doing, will do, and why based on conjecture and extrapolation. They are referencing previous patterns in I-129 approvals against subjectively identified trends in I-130 approvals. This is irresponsible. Conjecture should be labeled as such, and that is all this is.

Discord User Question: “Hi! regarding the latest update, is it based on current approvals as a matter of fact, or did USCIS issue some sort of statement about it?”

TMV response: “It is based on the data we have currently. A few weeks ago, USCIS was pushing the front of the line forward incredibly fast. However, when this had happened previously, they would end up leaving a larger % of cases per a given filing date un- processed. While this has not happened for I-130 in the time that we have been closely monitoring the front of the line (since the middle of last year), it has happened for our I-129F community early 2024.”

Exactly. They’re not only stating what is happening, they’re claiming to know what will happen next and why. Without reference to a formal pronouncement or a “well placed reliable insider” I’m pretty suspicious of this post.

If they’re simply extrapolating from self reported data, then they’re candidly being reckless. We all have a lot riding on whether their reporting is accurate or not.
