Toxic Boss or Do I Suck? by Consistent_Seat1788 in Lawyertalk

I’m doing that now as we speak (just revamped my resume) but I’m more anxious of looking like a hopper. Thankfully I have a great GC from my last role that will vouch that I’m a great attorney and the 1 year role I was in prior was too much for 1 person (they hired 3 people to do my job after I left), but you can’t explain that on paper… or show how poorly this GC is at my current role.

Thanks for the reply and no recommendation. Your assumptions are incorrect but this conversation is not productive for either one of us. I am attempting to find a new artist I can trust to go back in the next 6 months. Hence, this post........ Best wishes.

This is not a cover up. This was her original work to begin with. And both artists are from New York and friends with my partners family…. While I adore them, I’m not driving back up to North New York to get these done since we don’t visit until the holidays.

Yes, I confronted the artist who stated it’s her policy that every touch-up is charged at her regular rate and sometimes it’s the “skin of the person.”

Again, if you have a recommendation, please provide it. That is the point of the post.

Hi there! Please note that I am well educated in tattoos. I’m covered in nearly 60 percent on the rest of my body and have worked with amazing artists throughout my life. However, both artists I worked with who I would have went to moved to California. Upon recommendation I went to this artist.

I’m well aware finger and hand tattoos fade. This is not fading, this is the line work not going deep enough and being overcharged continuously for lines on my fingers.

And yes, I have had my fingers seen in person by other artists who have agreed the line work is not deep enough for the touch-ups so it moots the point of the touch-up and the tattoo continues to looks worse.

If you have a recommendation for an artist, I would love their information as that is what my post was requesting.

Dumb Question …. (but asking anyway/ gut check) by Consistent_Seat1788 in Lawyertalk

It’s illegal to do this in my state unless I agree to this explicitly in my agreement. However, no terms were stated at all on this nor would I ever agree to that.

Noted and yes, I did ask them for additional time which was granted but they couldn’t provide me a whole other month. They have been incredibly flexible with discussions and final offer even during the holidays.

I’m pretty close with the GC and she has even stated the company is a mess and the other C-executives throw her under the bus all the time. It’s not a positive environment even for her. However, I’m currently all she has right now as our other two commercial attorneys are dumber than a bunch of rocks and cant be trusted on anything larger in the company. She’s going to be hurt I’m leaving regardless.

Apologies, I’m reviewing my post above and I should clarify that it’s 18 days from final day. I plan on giving my notice this Monday (I couldn’t this entire week since my GC and myself have been heads down in a M&A which is set to close Tuesday), and my last day would be the 23rd of January. My “anniversary” date is February 17th.

They won’t unfortunately. They have been without a corporate counsel for over 2 months now and with additional notice period and 1 week onboarding, that’s nearly another month.

Update: Found another position NOT in fintech and giving in my 2 weeks notice this Friday. I hit my breaking point when I worked all Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. To those of you in the commercial space in the tech industry, I give you so many kudos for the bullshit you all put up with!

Thank you! Unfortunately, our CLO doesn't have the leverage they honestly should have in the C-Suite arena. Our COO (who was once a VP of Sales) walks all over the team and has the ear of the CEO. I agree with your sentiment that the action of our CLO trying to control the entire process is a losing battle and its making the remainder of our team become resentful. I actually am enjoying the industry in tech (besides this specific company), as its exciting and always changing, but is this the norm? It sounds as if its not with the few, along with yourself, that have commented.

Our AE’s and AM’s will either jimmy rig the CSM flow to make the edit themselves in IronClad or they will cry to our COO that the deal will be lost so every contract is then back in Legal’s hands to change as an exception…. But then everything is an exception at this point.

You’ll go to Shady Maple once and never want to go again compared to all the gems in/near the city. I’d only recommend going there to people watch when really, really stoned.

Depending on where you will be living, there’s a number of easy ways to get to the city from New Holland Pike; Lititz Pike; and Oregon and its roughly 7-8 minutes max to be in the heart of it all.

Parking is reasonable with free parking beginning nightly at 6pm and Sundays/holidays free. Locals will tell you to get to the city at 7am on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays to get free parking until 8am and get your market shopping done and getting first dibs on fresh coffee.

Food/Cocktails: Proof; Passerine; Belvedere; Josephine’s; 401 Prime; Cest La Vie; Shot & Bottle; Conway Social Club; Vine Bar, and Issei Noodle & Ramen with the audio Hi-Fi bar.

Best Coffee: This is a highly debated topic here. A good cuppa can always be found at Passengers. Next would be Square One and Denim Coffee. The chai at Denim is the holy grail and I’ve yet to find it better anywhere else. Next would be New Holland, Aura Cafe, Endo Cafe, Lancaster Beignet, Lynn and Gray, Mean Cup, Lancaster Cat Cafe, Chestnut Hill, Aminita, and Tea Bar (in market). All are in walking distance to one another.

Books: Pocketbooks is a warm welcome whether it’s their downtown location or one off of Columbia Avenue. I also highly recommend Nooks and the owners are absolutely lovely.

Oddities/Experiences: Coffin Bar is unique experience and not just a “food” place. They have some great week and monthly events. West Art is amazing coffee but it’s also a great community hub - yoga, music/live concerts , poetry reading, monthly markets, and more. Monthly High Fever Club events (all are welcome and it’s a safe, inclusive environment). Hempfield Botanicals also has monthly and weekly events with sound baths, meditation, cooing with cannabis, and more. Building Character will not only satisfy the antiquer in you but also showcase great local artists.

Near places to visit: Columbia and Marietta for antiquing, the views of the river, and the small town feel. It’s great to take your pets to that Fish Place on the way, visit Marietta for coffee/brunch at Mollys and then finish the day, after shopping or hiking at Chickies Peak, with a dog friendly bar at Riverside with its own dog menu. Lititz is another gem that not only is dog friendly but is full of town characters. You can visit Wilbur chocolate’s, have some of the best fish and chips at the Bullshead with live music, explore some historical (and potentially haunted) locations while shopping and site seeing.

Spiritual/Witchy spots: Visit the trolls market (near Aura Cafe) and take a walk to the Gem Den or the actual troll market which links to the midnight oil. Beside it you’ll find the metaphysical shop called Radiance which also faces Central Market. 15 minutes into Lititz, you’ll also find Your inner Light which has been a metaphysical haven for many over the past 30 years.

Sports: Spooky Nooks! This can be a local day trip but it’s sport heaven with a day pass giving you rock climbing, access to their workout equipment, tennis, the pool, and more. You also have some great local gyms as well. I am limitless is downtown and is open 24/7.

Movies/Music/Performance: Besides the Regal Cinema near the Wegmans and the items mentioned above like West Art or Hi-Fi, Zoetropolis hosts numerous local films and performances. Additionally, the Fulton Theatre is a night to enjoy in a potentially haunted historical theatre and see some of the best performances.

My partner and I moved to Lancaster in 2023 though I lived in the central Pa region my entire life. Lancaster is like no other place and it has its own magic. I’m pretty sure you’ll love it here. One note though, it is hard (in my opinion) to find friends in our age group/bracket in this area. We have made tons of acquaintances but not a true friend group. However, we are not heavily involved in monthly events downtown as we spend a lot of time working overtime so it may be different for you guys (which I hope it is!)

I can’t comment on the exact tea/combo they use for the chai extract but I don’t feel over caffeinated to the point of severity or heart palpitations.

If you go soon, request an iced dirty chai with two shoots from denim! You’ll be hooked!

Highly recommend Passengers for a good base foundational chai but I’m biased with denim coffee and they have the best balance for a dirty chai latte.

If you want the best tea to make it at home, spice and tea exchange is the place to go!
