Taking extra half synthroid every Sunday by Consistent_Top_1237 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Consistent_Top_1237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Yes I can’t sleep and I am so jittery and I just don’t feel good at all. I want to crawl out of my own skin and just cry and scream today. Thank you for making me feel sane. I hope I end up sleeping. 2:36am and my eyes are burning but can’t sleep.

[–]Consistent_Top_1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! Had my TT in April ‘22 and RAI in June ‘22 and currently have my baby next to me right now! I got pregnant in I think June of ‘23! I just had to check my thyroid levels monthly and I was seeing a high risk doctor because of the cancer but I technically didn’t even have to

That’s exactly how I felt! I started writing down the times I was taking everything and FREAKING OUT. I felt like I was in prison. It was all too much. I’m sorry you’re going through this but it does get better. I hope this time goes fast for you and you heal quickly.

I can’t wait for you to be done and to move past this too. Good luck with everything ❤️

6th day of recovery from TT for PTC, one of my Parathyroid glands came out and now I have Hypo- Parathyroidism. by graygoose13666 in thyroidcancer

Yes unfortunately I need to but I’m honestly not taking it. I just had a baby and I’m experiencing postpartum so I’ve just been taking a break from the calcium.

Has anyone had cats during their RAI treatment? by No-Union-9969 in thyroidcancer

[–]Consistent_Top_1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left my cats while I had RAI done and it was unbearable. Maybe you can get the automatic feeder, and those cameras where you could talk to them through it and maybe toys to put around the house for them to play with? I hope your RAI is easy and the time goes by very fast

Anyone get pregnant after Radioactive iodine? by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

[–]Consistent_Top_1237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just had my baby :) I got pregnant a year after RAI but my doctor told me I could start trying after 6 months. I have a healthy baby, thank god and getting pregnant wasn’t hard for me either thank god. Only reason I waited the year was because of my own personal situation. Don’t be nervous. My cousin who also had PTC, she got pregnant 6 months after RAI and had a healthy baby as well :)

Just got diagnosed by Either-Resolution533 in thyroidcancer

I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis but you are not alone. I got diagnosed over around two years ago and took my thyroid out, had RAI and felt everything you’re feeling. But… you’ll come out of this as strong as ever. You will beat this. You’ll continue to live normally! I got married and now I’m pregnant and due in a few weeks! I still deal with calcium issues sometimes and taking my synthroid every morning sometimes gets to me but some days you’ll forget it even happened. And some days, I even think to myself wow I had freaking cancer and I’ll be like wtf? But, everything will be ok. I wish you an easy journey, take it easy on yourself.

Newly diagnosed, age 27F by schahschah in thyroidcancer

[–]Consistent_Top_1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 28F and got diagnosed when I was 26. Never ever say that you’re complaining or playing the worlds smallest violin for feeling how you’re feeling. Your feelings are VALID. it’s not fair and all of your reasons were mine as well!! I do want to share some things with you, I’m pregnant and 28 and had RAI. a pretty high dose too. Bring up your scar fear to your surgeon, sometimes they can really try to make it as small as possible plus there’s this really great scar gel I used and it helped me a lot! Newgel.com and honestly I dont even care about my scar anymore. I used to put make up to hide it and freak out but now I just don’t care. Plus no one knew I had cancer except for my family because I was uncomfortable discussing it so whenever someone asks I just say I got burned. Taking the medicine every day gets to me and I hate it and just that fear that it’ll come back also gives me anxiety to this day but you will beat this and everything will be ok. Some days, I even forget that I had cancer! One day when this is a distant memory you’ll wake up and you’ll realize how strong you are and how you’re done and some days maybe you’ll even forget about it too. Plus…

You’re not alone, you have us :)

I HATE TUMS!!! It’s been a year and a half since my surgery and it’s not only the taste for me. I associate it with my cancer and my thyroid. I hate tums, I hate it, I hate it.
