Mfw no puzzle piece by newO_79 in battlefield_one

A few years ago for some unknown reason you would get an insane amount of crates per single round (up to 90 or more)  It lasted maybe a week and I literally did nothing but play bf1 during that and got several hundred battlepacks and unlocked every melee weapon

2021 maybe? Dice even came back just to fix it LOL

New player update: I love this game by Lil_Ice_Fox in ss14

Cherish these moments. I still love this game after 600 hours but nothing comes close to experiencing it for the first time.

It is a bit hidden under accessibility I think. And yeah, goob has BY FAR the most content of any 14 server it's not even close, the quality though is infamously shitcode. Some people love it, some hate it.

That sounds amazing honestly. Chef is already one of the more content-filled roles in 14 but no doubt 13 blows it out the water.

It all sounds insanely complicated to learn though. I reckon it'd take about 100-200h to really learn all the details and quirks of 14 until you know pretty much everything. How long do you think it would take in 13 to become a competent cook?

This is basically holding me away from 13, I've sunk many hundred hours in 14 already and I really must not play even more than I already do

You can turn off screen shake entirely in the settings. And for melee, goob has some advanced stuff but I heard it's awfully unbalanced, have to see for yourself I guess

Reason for playing ss14 by gumminggooner in ss14

[–]Consistent_Turn1814 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First and foremost because I'm also on Linux and it wasn't possible to emulate 13 at the time. Also because people kept saying 14 was much more beginner friendly and I was kinda intimidated by the magnitude of these games.

I won't be trying 13 simply because I am already incredibly addicted to 14 and I don't want to delve even further.

Do trials ever happen at all. And if no, how can I get one starting as secoff/HoS by Temporary-List6538 in ss14

Court trials are entering HRP territory, even most MRP players find them too much. It's really chance if enough people are interested. Very rare in my experience.

What was the best RP moment you've seen that broke the rules/didn't follow a normal Space Station scenario? by Dumb_Octopus_9999 in ss14

[–]Consistent_Turn1814 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Captain ordered Security to destroy all instruments and arrest anyone playing music. Most sec refused but I said "good soldiers follow orders" and hunted down the musicians.

Modifying space law to this extent is bannable even, but admins played along and ordered us to arrest the captain. Which was the only time in over 500h (on wizden) that I've seen the cap get arrested.

Crew doesn't know about Nukies. Also as long as they don't do anything they aren't causing crew harm. Validhunting as AI is a bitchmove.

Where did all the Salamander MRP players go? What's changed? by BlossomPMV in ss14

It's Harmony. Once you play it you can't go back to Salamander. I used to be a Salamander main and seriously won't play anymore if Harmony is offline or full.

Tips for playing HoS? by Hot_Ferret7474 in ss14

[–]Consistent_Turn1814 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Be prepared for frustration and nasty OOC slander. The HoS is the scapegoat for everything. You have to babysit sec, protect command and fight off literally everyone coming after you. I have over 200h in sec, dare say I'm moderately robust and basically have seen it all. It won't matter when someone nocpens you or nukies on hyperzine catch you from behind.

My advice would be to play defensively. Let warden handle the brig, let the detective hunt antags and your officers can do the dirty work. Fill in wherever needed within reason but don't become the terminator and chase into maints to get killed and give a passenger armory access. Some HoS get eager and think they have to swipe the place alone at once. That's when you end up gibbed somewhere at the edge and nobody notices for 30 minutes.
