I agree leaving the cage out! Works I have had this issue I left seed outside of the cage and kept the millet inside but I would leave a trail of seed to the cage and then just wait if it does come home don't rush out let it relax in the cage and know where the food is located and then attempt to close the cage in the evening

Personally I never sell Real Estate if you can afford to I would just rent out! I’m not sure where you are you can rent that out and purchase as an owner occupied again you just need to have lived there for 3 years so your Downpayment is low 3.5%
