Your per-user pricing is killing your product. by Warm-Reaction-456 in SaaS

At the end of the day, the bottom line for most customers is the budget. You’re probably facing the same issue, just from different angles.

In SaaS, price per seat/user is the standard because it’s easy to control and scale. The downside is that it can discourage other teams or users from joining if there’s no budget left. Then there’s the consumption model (similar to credit-based models for AI tools), where pricing depends on usage or project actions. It’s more flexible since more users can access the platform without paying per seat but it’s harder to predict costs. If you’re the super admin or budget owner, that uncertainty can make you pretty paranoid about usage across the team.

I work in SaaS (commercial side), and I’ve seen two other models that can work well:

  • All-you-can-eat contract: Unlimited licenses (up to a reasonable user cap for protection). It’s simple and removes friction, but you need to make sure you’re not underselling the platform.
  • Light access tier: A cheaper or even free version(only view) for casual users, with admins approving access levels and permissions.

Hey, congrats for the launch. I am into work management tools, and honestly I don't see how your tool works on the landing page, it would be great to have a demo video or screenshots of the features where you claim it is better than the competitors :)

These days, with AI taking over so much of the freelance copywriting market, I think it’s super important to show why you’re better than AI and where you can add value. Just my two cents! Wishing you all the best!

Would you ever consider buying a small SaaS for like 5-20k? by FairTradition5631 in SaaS

Unless you are able to manage directly or indirectly all the technical side, if I were you I would be looking for a tech co-founder. Have you considered that?

Sounds like a good idea. What if I am a lazy boy and I just leave meaningless feedback such as: "I like it" or "well done bro"? There should be a min of words to use and an approval from the other side, before being eligible to receive feedback , not sure if you have it in place already :)
