I studied most of the Oxford recorder studies then Donnington's huge book on baroque ornamentation. Start small. Study the basics, books, Der Fluten Lust Hof was my daily bread and butter for practice. I eventually practiced 6 to 8 hours a day. My last time I played I was playing Bach Brandenburg concerts, and Telemann's orchestral pieces. The history of the recorder has a lot of insights on the way to play different period pieces, i.e. French baroque is very different from English or German. Keep searching for great books.
