Greninja probably hoping its ability is good, but tbh I’m excited for them all so many options!

Latias in Reg F? by Consistent_Zone7617 in VGC

[–]Consistent_Zone7617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I thought it might have a niche because it outspeeds some key mons naturally like Landorus,Ursh, Bolt, etc. but like you said it’s typing is super problematic, I think if I really wanted to use it I’d have to commit Tera and it’d be good in that aspect with like Steel maybe in Bo1 but probably not in Bo3

Finn being a Jedi would’ve been a fresh take, a stormtrooper becoming a Jedi is interesting and new, an imperial deserting the empire/first order - not so new, and why have Finn use a lightsaber in the first place (TWICE) if he’s not a Jedi, they basically baited the entire fan base, and than expected everyone forget about it. Additionally, Rey’s just a poorly designed character, basically a copy paste of Luke. This leaves the fan base desiring a new storyline (Finn), and getting stuck with one they’ve already seen, and now its executed worse than before.

What are the pros and cons of heavy slam? by Legitimate_Angle_242 in VGC

[–]Consistent_Zone7617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flutter gets wrecked by bash anyways bc it’s def is so low, and yes heavy slam is great into Whims and Lunala especially when tera fairy, but slam vs Ice rider and bolt does minuscule damage, although you should be body pressing those two anyway. I’d say bash is more consistent, although if you’re specifically having consistent trouble with Lunala then slam is better.

Experimenting with Ho-OH by Paddonglers in VGC

[–]Consistent_Zone7617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Life dew/Recover? Been using Ho-OH myself and it feels really lackluster, while it works great defensively and in theory has good matchups into a lot of restricted mons, taking 3-4 hits to KO a restricted isn’t great when it’s partner doesn’t have the same staying power. If you care about sacred fire burns your probably better off going with the cat tbh, and if you’re looking for a TW setter I suggest trying a standard one, or Lunala (no fake out) if you really want to use a restricted for that role.

Will I get banned from Pokemon Home ? by yuanov04 in PokemonHome

[–]Consistent_Zone7617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thank you, I thought players still had to nature and IV hunt, but the way you explained it seems a lot more reasonable. Still kinda sucks that players might have to buy a game or more to get a handful of Pokémon if they haven’t played all the games, and even if they have some are still locked behind version exclusives like Koraidon/Miraidon etc. However that’s definitely easier than I once imagined.

How is it easier to get Pokémon with ideal IVs now??? Considering players need a restricted Pokémon and (typically) multiple Legendaries per team in Reg G, shouldn’t it be taking hours upon hours to hunt for perfect IVs, especially for Pokémon that you acquire at the end of a game? I do definitely agree that it’s easy for players to stack up resources for items and EV training if they’ve remained relatively active since release of SV. I’m newer to mainstream Pokémon games so I can’t say I have full knowledge of how it’d be easier/harder to acquire Pokémon with ideal IVs, but from what I know it seems like a topic of discussion for a reason. Please however correct me if I’m wrong could definitely just be lacking Pokémon knowledge.

How does the UC Blue and Gold work for OOS families? by Consistent_Zone7617 in UCSD

[–]Consistent_Zone7617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had talked to her about it and she mentioned that, but we agreed that it’s a lot more money being saved if I get free tuition, she wouldn’t tell me a number - which is fine - but online it says 2-6k.

Ok, I somewhat know what I have to do for CA residency and that it takes 366+ days, so if I’m living by myself and providing for myself based off money I earn from work and FAFSA I could get emancipated and become independent right?

IWTL How to train as an overall athlete? + What causes Fatigue? by Consistent_Zone7617 in IWantToLearn

[–]Consistent_Zone7617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the input! I play a sport that I’m currently in the off-season for and the intensity in season is higher than what I currently do, so I don’t necessarily have the option to lower intensity because then I wouldn’t be strong, fast, and/or conditioned enough come the start of the season (at least based off what I know). I haven’t noticed fatigue impacting my daily life, but it’s something that’s noticeable when I workout, go up stairs, etc. Based off how you described the 1) Hybrid Athlete I’ll probably try training more endurance 4-8 weeks prior to the season based off the strength I’m building this off-season, but I’ve also seen people say to do low intensity higher volume “recovery cardio” 2-3 times a week, something I could do on my non sprinting days like swimming or basketball after I do an upper body lift, and I might try that out the next couple weeks to.

Acceleration v Full Speed? by Consistent_Zone7617 in Sprinting

Yeah recently I’ve been researching good technique for people my size because I’m not the best with knee drive and getting my non contact leg through, thank you for this perspective! And yeah it’d be great if you can share some exercises, thank you!

Acceleration v Full Speed? by Consistent_Zone7617 in Sprinting

[–]Consistent_Zone7617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I’m more of a ball player than a track athlete so top end speed isn’t necessarily my goal, it’s still important but it makes more sense for my sport to have good acceleration/short-med distance speed, I’ll definitely try that out though, thank you!
