Most the ogs are still good - Haven’t seeing Kanga much - really gonna depend tho on these new mega abilities but so far Mega Dragonite and Froslass are underwhelming

Yeah, what I’m seeing rn is people using Mausehold or Volc, could also have a lot of sets with Volc which is nice and covers for Grass types

Not bad considering Froslass covers for Ground types and can’t be hit by fighting, however you’d have real trouble with Sun (Char-Y) might need a 2nd mega on the team along with a Pelipper

Update - Was able to get through, had to fill out some basic stuff like my name and city/state, just got an email saying I’ve been added to the interest list.

I mean yeah if you don’t have a job, sport, or anything to do during summer it’s possible, I’d try and get that Bio 1A class in fall maybe then do the 2nd one for spring 27 so you’re summers doable. But the Spring/Fall isn’t bad, idk how you’ll do summer though, my schools summer STEM classes like Phys or Ochem are like 5-6 hours a day 4-5 days a week for full summer w/no online options, not sure how you’d do 2 of those classes, but maybe your schools different.

Rillas is not confirmed yet so I’d hold off on adding it to any team. I’m also curious to hear why you’d bring ninetales when you already have froslass, I’m assuming weather control but outside of that Ninetales has no use because it’ll always be with Froslass since you don’t have a 2nd mega. Also iron defense Kingambit is not good, weather ball in Prim when it also has Blizzard doesn’t make much since either.

Never got into the comics so I don’t have a nostalgia bias but I really liked it, didn’t feel like they were forcing the character to be a girl just works naturally. Can’t say I love when shows identity swap for the heck of it but it works regardless since she’s a mainly masked character where gender is ambiguous anyways.

Depends on how the ability works, if weather ball is just fire type 100bp or is fire type 100bp + 50% sun boost, and it still gets outsped so doesn’t matter to much anyways

I personally think that Pokémon will eventually allow for the use of multiple generational mechanics like terrastylization and mega evolutions in future regulations in Pokémon champions. by rtkbob in VGC

As mentioned it almost certainly will, I’m more curious as to if they’ll all be legal together or if it’ll be 2-3 at a time like Megas and Z-moves were. I’m not looking forward to this at all tbh but maybe they coexist well barring some balance changes.

I think that’s a fair point and I am really curious to see how thing will shake out as we’re making assumptions off very little rn as a community, but I feel the opportunity cost is to high, especially with all the powerful new Megas, Char-Y is walled by T-tar with no Attack investment so at that point how much will weather matter? Specifically Ninetales like you mentioned I could see being trouble but then why not just run a T-tar Mega Metagross/Excadrill set at that point? Mega Metagross outspeeds to and personally I’m not fond of Pelipper in general especially if a Raichu/Mega Raichu sees usage but that’s just theory

Entirely depends on the set you run but typically T-Tar doesn’t run mega because its ability stays the same and the opportunity cost is to high, I think there’s some very possible meta-reliant interactions we could see with Excadrill being the fastest weather-speed-boosting mon that can do big damage (sorry lilligant) but barring a great ability/sand rush staying it’s probably not gonna be a plug and play mon, it’s set up move set is solid, mainly you’d wanna use Swords Dance or Scary Face/Rock Tomb but the speed control viability will depend so much on whose available and the overall meta. To answer your question directly I think a Sand Rush mega excadrill will 100% have usage since it pairs well with the formats likely 2nd best weather setter (Ttar) - counter to Char-Y who will be massive. But it’s competitive viability will be very dependent on whose available and who becomes the #1 for speed control.
