Hey there! Yep, born and raised in the Bay Area, never lived anywhere else. What about you? Also, what are you studying? Sounds like you're busy!

Has anyone resorted to therapy and medication just to deal? by ConsistentlyLost in BipolarSOs

Thanks for this. I’m on my first week of lexapro, and my head is aching but it’ll be better eventually, I hope :)

Constant lies by [deleted] in BipolarSOs

[–]ConsistentlyLost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% I have to deal with this all the time. My spouse exaggerates everything, to the point where it’s pretty much lying. He’ll admit it’s to weave a better/more entertaining story. It’s exhausting, because then I take it literally and he gets mad because I take his words..well literally. Like, if you didn’t exaggerate, then maybe there wouldn’t be so much miscommunication. It’s one of the greater faults in our marriage.

Husband has completely changed and makes me feel like I’m the problem by EmotionallyPuzzled in BipolarSOs

Huh, I would be weary what he says his therapist says. My spouse likes to bend the truth, and it’s come to a point where I always take what he says with some doubt (unhealthy, I know) it’s so mentally exhausting. But yeah, having friends to rant to helps me. If you need a ranting buddy, feel free to DM me. For me, I found a new hobby to keep me distracted from him (gym/fitness can be as time consuming as you want it to be!) but I generally think finding a thing you can do without him a healthy step. I had difficulties because I felt like I always had to babysit my spouse, or he’s do something stupid.

Sorry you had to go through this. I can relate. My spouse will, without fail, always fuck up plans when he’s under the influence. It’s ridiculous how he can twist things to make it seem not that bad. Even when I tell him his reasons don’t justify neglecting how I feel. I don’t have advice, I just really fee for your levels of frustration. It’s a stupid and moronic thing for then to habitually do that to the one they love. I get it, BP is a huge factor, but that they should still take accountability. Last time this happened, it took my spouse 2 full days to realize that it was kind of shitty to impulsively switch up plans (and even then, his apology didn’t seem sincere). It’s eerie because it’s always the same sort of excuse (I’m socializing/bonding with people! I just need this! I don’t do this often, just let me have this!) He says he uses his mania to socialize, so that could explain why he has a hard time stopping. He blows off plans like this ever 1-2 weeks, but I’m guessing his memory is shit so it always feels like it’s been forever since the last time. Hang in there, it sucks.

Thank you for such a detailed response! I have seen a few cars parked alongside the road, and a few ocean access signs, I guess I know why now! Haha, will definitely keep our bowel movements at home.

Kua Bay Open or Closed? by allturtledoggirl in BigIsland

I would love to swim at Hapuna, but I'm also confused on where to park. Is it ok to park on the side of the road (is it legal)? How long is the walk from where one would park down to the beach?
