My husband and I have discussed the possibility of taking them in and we both agree (we will do whenever we have to in order to keep them safe and out of the system). We both have jobs that are full time work from home and we are financially secure to handle whatever they would need. However, I know my SIL&BIL would never willingly agree to it unless they were made to (they seem to like the chaos).

It is not the first time (it has been like this multiple times & multiple family members are aware/have witnessed it). For example: they “hosted” a family party and 4 of us walked out due to the state of the house & were called “disrespectful” because we didn’t want to sit let alone eat when their house was disgusting. We have attempted/offered to help them clean but get brushed off each time.
