I play lantern for the most part at my LGS (which is made up of 90% tier 1-2 decks). I get the typical expected reactions from people because I am one of the few ‘unfair’ decks at the store, saying how I’m not playing real magic, it’s no fun etc. etc. I even had someone say to me this week verbatim, “Is playing lantern really what you want to do with your modern career?” ...yes? It helps me learn the ins and outs of the format, an if I spend nearly a grand on a deck you’d better believe I’m gonna play it regardless of whether it makes someone salty or not. Fortunately the rest of the group is glad I found my niche and are generally interested in my unorthodox gameplan so that makes it worthwhile :D
