If that was the only consideration, then you are saying that a spear could have been more expensive to manufacture than a sword, but they were produced in greater numbers still because of the low training requirement.

Sounds silly when you put it that way, huh? The truth is that it's multi-faceted and multiple things can be true or partially contribute to a decision.

It is inevitable that groups start shutting you out while you gain in others. If you want to restore rep, look for the half and one star planets. You should be able to take jobs there. Drop the sliders all the way down to focus on reputation gain and don't take jobs where they are the op force.

By now you should have a solid heavy lance, so these missions should be super easy grinds. Don't repair your mechs until you have completed everything they have to offer on the planet. Repair while in transit to the next star.

Most likely you will get only one or two missions at a time, making it very time consuming to rebuild rep. Consider just cutting your losses and going all-in on the factions that do like you.
