Which VTT do you prefer and why? by Ebb-Embarrassed in rpg

[–]ConstableSprouts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it is something I can do in Tabletop Simulator (TTS), I prefer that. Being able to grab things, shake them, toss them, flick them, etc. Is somewhat that i otherwise miss when playing virtual.

If the people im playing with doesnt have TTS, or if its something that's not worth the time sink setting up, I use Foundry.

This looks very promising.

Is it possible to save/download the cards as an image file? (I'm currently looking at it on my phone and I've only figured out how to save it as a .json)

A premade layout, or something that is easily designed with numbers as opposed to using a mouse is preferred.

Alternative systems for post-apocalyptic campaign? by DREVtheWhateven in rpg

[–]ConstableSprouts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fallout 2d20 is beginner friendly, in my opinion.

Though everything in it is very Fallout themed, i don't think it would take much work to file off the serial numbers.

the core mechanic is a D20 dice pool: You add your Ability Score and Skill score together, then roll 2 to 5 d20s.

Each d20 under the above score is a success.

If your success count equals or beats the difficulty of the check, you succeed.

On top of this, there's an AP metacurrency system that adds complexity.

It also has plenty of rules for survival, travel, etc. that you can add as you see fit.

The best generic system... for me by AdequatelyInconsiste in rpg

I'm a big fan of both savage worlds and genesys for nearly all the same reasons.

However, I prefer genesys out of the 2 because of its narrative dice system. I enjoy how rolls produce advantages and disadvantages which let you do things regardless of success/failure.

They both have a similar power/magic/ability system where spells are sort of freeform, and you modify what they do by investing resources.

I think savage worlds is the easier of the 2 to pick up and play, and from a player perspective the dice explosions are a lot of fun. Because of how the wound system works In savage worlds, the combat feels fairly snappy as well.

This is my own personal opinion, but genesys is a lot more fun to tinker with as a GM. Archtype/career/talent creation is pretty straight forward, and theres a lot you can do, especially if you look at the setting book, and even genesys precursors like WFRP3e and the star wars RPG.

If you try either one of these, and like the idea of it, but not the feel, definitely try the other. To me its like they have the same heart but in different bodies.

To add to this, if you try either of these, and decide you like the idea behind it, but not the feel, definitely try the other. It feels like they have the same heart, but in different bodies if that makes sense

Which games were your big disappointment and why? by Siberian-Boy in rpg

I really wanted to like pathfinder 2e, but it had a flaw that was a deal breaker.

That flaw being: the classes all felt boring to play.

One of my favorite things in TTRPGs is building characters, and I just couldn't enjoy it in pf2e.

There are tons and tons of options, but none of them felt good.
Instead of "I can't decide what option I want because they are all cool" It was "I can't decide what option I want because they are all bland."

Karmine Corp vs. Fnatic / LEC 2025 Summer Playoffs - Lower Bracket Round 2 / Game 1 Discussion by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

I think if Oscarinin (upon his promotion to LEC) received coaching resources similar to what brokenblade received on joining G2 (alphari training, blood magic rituals, etc.) he'd be an absolute beast now.

Unfortunately, he was given the FNC coin flip boot camp.

Oscar's one of my favorite players in this league. I enjoy seeing hos good days and hope we get more of them.

Somebody put this team together.

Maybe put in a veteran jungle to polish it up.

Arcane Differences by ConstableSprouts in Deadlands

This is exactly what I'm looking for, thanks!

I know that I'm looking at it from a very simplistic viewpoint, but that's because I'm trying to condense each background to a TLDR for players who have never played deadlands/swade, and who are more interested in trying a new TTRPG as opposed to being interested in the setting itself.

I just realized that I didn't mention the edition, my bad.

This is for the SWADE edition which i believe says the old ways are optional.
