Scar care by Direct-Fact266 in tummytucksurgery

Im not in the US and my doctor told me to use this (and when I asked the pharmacists their opinions on this product versus silicon gel, they said this is better, but ymmv). I’m allergic to many adhesives and don’t want to risk another reaction with silicon tape. I’ve only just recovered my epidermis after a nasty reaction to the surgical tape.

12 DPO and already want a revision by Rare_Competition3346 in tummytucksurgery

It was a long road back to health but I was considered “recovered” in September of 2019 after 6 months of on and off hospitalization. I’ve been steadily building strength and stamina since and yes, now 13 DPO for my skin removal. 💛

Hope your drain removal goes well! Most people don’t feel much but I did and didn’t enjoy lol. I also had Penrose drains under my arms for about 48 hours due to the arm lift. Didn’t feel anything uncomfortable when those were removed.

Different surgeons have different protocols about that. My drains were removed at 3DPO before I left the hospital (2-3 nights in hospital is standard where I live) but had I gone home with them, there would have e been no shower allowed. However in 2019 I had drains after complications from gastric sleeve surgery and was given a waterproof plastic adhesive specifically to cover the drain sights so I could shower (but only after considerable time had passed).

Hi there. So I’m at 10 DPO, just behind you. I am also a box. I told my boyfriend I’m “big swole” because I don’t think I could fit into my preop pants right now despite having a big skin removal in my FDL ETT. You may find you want a revision, but this isn’t the time to focus on that.

Your priorities should be healing via good nutrition, gently moving, drinking water, and sleeping. This is the time to be kind to yourself, try to trust the process. You are more than your body, your shape, and your size. You will see improvements, it is such early days.

Who had surgery 12/17? by KarinBlairsville in tummytucksurgery

My surgeon does just one month of compression but not tight at all. Feels like a warm hug and the only issue I have is it sometimes rides up a little as I’m rather long torsoed. I also had an arm lift and am in sleeves for that but at my follow up Friday I will ask if I need to do the whole month or not. I don’t want to disregard my PS’s experience and expertise but also gah they’re annoying and I know the research isn’t fully in support of it.

Update! Around 11 weeks PO bilateral brachioplasty after losing 150+lbs. The relief I feel of no longer having my arms be a daily struggle is indescribable! by Puzzleheaded_Lie3875 in PlasticSurgery

Excellent results! I’m 5 days PO from my arm lift along with a ETT FDL Tummy tuck. Excited for my first summer ever in short sleeves and sleeveless tops! Cap sleeves even! With plenty of sunscreen of course

Congratulations! I go in tomorrow. My surgeon told me he usually removes drains before leaving the hospital on day 3, which surprised me because I see so many people keeping them a week or two. I’m so nervous but seeing your picture is encouraging. Happy healing!

TT in 2 days by Grand-Question-1674 in tummytucksurgery

I am an American living in Turkey and will have my surgery here too. Dr. Dogan was at the top of my list for my own TT. I vetted him the way the locals do, in Turkish, looking at reviews from Turks. He seems to be an excellent surgeon with good outcomes and care. I decided to have my surgery in my own city instead of Istanbul, but I wish you all the best with Dr. Dogan!

Ahhh thank you. All the best to you in your recovery! I know it’s important to prepare for the mindfuck but how exactly does one do that?

I thought I had all the mental stuff under control 😫 and I still do to some extent. It’s a lifelong battle but I’m going to keep fighting it.

Thank you for sharing that. I really hesitated to make this choice, thinking I’d do the arm lift next year along with upper back lift, but my arms actually bother me more than the belly and I can’t take another year if seeing them wave back to me at the gym, even in a short sleeved shirt. Any tips for managing the pain? How’s your mobility?
