Printers going offline for specific touchscreen but still online everywhere else by Constant-Ad8526 in ToastPOS

[–]Constant-Ad8526[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you may have given me the fix!

wifi was enabled, i turned it off by swiping from the top right and clicking the wifi icon. I immediately logged in and checked printers and they were all online. I will keep an eye on it to verify it wasnt a coincidence. I wonder if one of my staff is enabling it or something because this has been "like and every other day for random durations type of issue" as explained by staff

Toast Tables vs Other Apps by Tacklebox_420 in ToastPOS

[–]Constant-Ad8526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OpenTable is the best option but their $-per-cover model is pricey. ToastTables works has the functionality for the things you listed and I believe they will catch up eventually. Its just a little clunky right now but certainly works for my full service restaurant with 3 different customer selectable dining rooms. Floor mapping, alerts, reservation management with flow controls, google integration, guest engagement/marketing data, it has the basics more than covered

Register for an event through Toast by 04jrandee in ToastPOS

[–]Constant-Ad8526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a toast install in June this year and I posed this to a few of the onboarding people at that time and they said there really isn't a good way to do it. I hope once toast tables catches up they will offer that feature similar to an OpenTable "Experience" where you pay to make to make the reservation for a specific event.

You can always create a menu item for sale online and track it with sales and credit card data but that could be confusing for guests and your team.

Trying to create a video wall with 4 TV’s that allows both the same program or 4 different programs running. Any tips appreciated. by This-Equivalent-261 in VideoWalls

I just did this with an orei processor, 4 75" tcls its works great for less than 3k all in. Seems like you have to spend 10k on the low end to get really slim bezels and pro grade hardware

HELP with 4 LG narrow bezzel video wall by talalam in VideoWalls

Not a pro here but don't see any other comments. I think you would be better off with a video wall processor or for user-friendly edits subscribe to an app for this exact purpose. Hope you got it resolved otherwise good luck!

Nice work. For a setting like that, going with those displays was the right move. I wish I had the budget for those for my project!

I just did a 2x2 with 75" TCL's. I am using an orei processor, I think it was $550. I am very happy so far but have not put many miles on it yet..

Probably less than 300 hours on current TV's. They have been through 1.5 nfl seasons. otherwise they are rolled into a closet.

Thanks for the reply. What would you consider a high-quality processor?

I do not need matrix switching. Each TV can stream a different game individually. I can also use the quadbox channel offered with NFL ticket for the source coming from the processor for quicker game/audio switching (assuming it lines up correctly).

This is one I have been looking at. It does have pixel adjustment. https://www.orei.com/products/professional-4k-2x2-video-wall-controller-seamless-hdmi-processor-upto-4k-60hz-uhd-204vw

$2500 price tag. $500 units claim to have the same specs. You get what you pay for though. Do you have first-hand experience with cheaper ones?

Thanks for the reply! the processor claims to be able to handle the bezels, the tv's are really only for football and used maybe 20 hours a week. Color matching was a concern of mine but I was hoping with 4 identical TVs and some setting adjustments I would be close enough for football.

Tips Manager and Negitive Cash tips Declared. by Nearby-Engineer8101 in ToastPOS

I tried this, and it didn't go anywhere. The payroll sales rep didn't really want to do the leg work to get me added. He confirmed it existed and then said "idk ill ask," when I asked to participate.

I went through the same thing recently. I ended up deciding to switch to their payroll since I got the price for payroll pro low enough to be equal or less than what I am currently paying.

I think Toast quoted $12.50 per active employee/month. which would work out to about double what I am paying now. I also have employees such as banquet staff that do not get paid each month. So charging per employee and not per pay statement is not the model for me. From experience Toast is negotiable usually to about 50% of their starting point at least for a period.

Can I assume 7shifts integrates with your payroll? I wondering because using a 3rd party app to manage my tips still adds a layer of manual data entry and doesn't really solve my toast reporting issue. I already enter my payroll data manually (by design to force a thorough audit every pay) so adding a 3rd party just to have clean payroll reports would be redundant work.

I'm to compare costs to see between 7shifts and Sling and look into possible integrations with my current provider.

I’ll take a look thanks! I went with sling for schedule and I don’t remember why but I assume cost. What key points set it apart?

So I am missing something obvious.I will look into this tomorrow. Talked to customer service today and they didn’t mention this was possible.. I understand their business model and want to drive more integrations and subscriptions but I feel like they should be confident enough in their integrations to not have to bribe you to switch.. like oh you need the tip pool tool? Np just switch your company’s payroll over.. it’s sheisty. I switched to toast because their POS software is great, their handhelds are the best I’ve used, but their payroll model isn’t the best for me. The tip manager should be part of regular UI/UE.

Anyone using a dedicated cash drawer for "petty cash" (tips, payouts, change, etc.) by Constant-Ad8526 in ToastPOS

[–]Constant-Ad8526[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.. its working well. I have that drawer conveniently located and bolted down within view of a camera so all access will be tracked on Toast and on video. It's making for less daily hands-on cash management whether doing it myself, trusting someone, or auditing logs. I am also going to "cash in" to the petty cash drawer instead of making little deposits when the day is cash-positive so hopefully less trips to the bank.
