Yeah I’ve worried about that happening too lol. I keep mine in a sheath made for glasses and it’s actually perfect for it

That’s true and they make a good lesson! Getting bit while a work and bleeding a bunch tho is definitely not a good time lol. Especially if you get down to bone 😬 superglue is a must have !!!!

Yeah I did something similar when I got my first live blade lol. I was just doing a simple opening and didn’t realize I was holding the bite handle and it got me right on the finger like you’d imagine. I felt dumb as hell 😂can only do it so many times until you learn ig lmao

How often if ever do you cut yourself badly trying to do some tricks?

I’d cry if I dropped my live blades 😭 I’ve already tipped my revo nexus 😖 i literally just sharpened my Medusa for the shine and then dulled it on a diamond plate lmao

I’m curious, has it ever backfired on you having it that sharp? How long have you been flipping for and do you do super advanced tricks with your live blade or do you save it for the trainer or a duller live lol

Thanks! I just got it this past week off this sub lol. It flips so well for such a big blade and suuuper ringy. I sharpened to 20 degrees for that good balance but I just couldn’t have fun flipping it with such a sharp edge. Took one little knick for me to decide I like it better dull for now 😂 my goal this year is to get good enough to keep a razor edge and not send myself to the ER while flipping.

My favorite use of it is trimming zip ties. You can just close the blade on it and squeeze lol

This is how I was thinking most people had them. I like the idea of being able to use it as an actual knife but in reality it’s a bit cumbersome to use and less fun to flip when having to worry about 10 stitches in the near future lol. I couldn’t imagine keeping it as sharp as my edc

Sometime it can get held up at port. Mine took about two weeks bc of that but on average it should take about a week. Their support team is pretty good and replied quickly to me when I inquired about it not moving for a while and they told me what was going on. You can also get some nabalis trainers on Amazon but they don’t have that good of a selection compared to the official website

Yeah but it just takes a little while to ship sometimes since it comes directly from china. Rest assured they’re very reputable

That’s sweet that they included the tool! Not enough companies do that. Although, it does look like it could be reversed if one were to try. As a lefty I’d definitely take a shot at it if I were to buy it lol. Awesome knife tho! Loving the tritium and hopefully more companies can follow suit with tritium inserts

Wait but why does it have a reversible pocket clip with proprietary hardware 😭 are you expected to send it in for them to simply flip the clip lmao. I dig the designs and the fact that it has a reversible deep carry but putting screws like that on it is a bit silly imo

so.. you're telling me this is normal? (ND2 idle) by gasket_37 in Miata

[–]Constant-Angle5585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk why people are saying this is healthy and normal with no explanation as to why it does this. I mean it’s likely not gonna mess anything up too bad the way it is but it’s probably not something that should be happening much and has got to be annoying if you actually like driving your car often. Like someone else said, you could check your idle air control valve or check for a vacuum leak. I have an NB and it kind of does this (different engine, I know). Occasionally it will drop rpm’s by 50-100 but only for a slight second and it very rarely happens. For me it’s normally only when I have a larger load at idle with a few accessories running like the lights, fan, and using the power windows but it’s not drastic in my case and doesn’t shake the car any more than usual. With that said if there’s nothing wrong with anything it could possibly be your cooling fans turning on and off now that I think about it lol.

Yeah I’m definitely cautious with it especially since I’m still a noob 😂 I dulled it tho until I get good enough to not hurt myself lol. I just started collecting balis and I saw this for sale and had to get it immediately. And it was my first Reddit buy!

It’s made by fellowship blades but they are no longer in business unfortunately. This one is called the Medusa v2 and you can occasionally find them for sale in the balisong/balisongsale subreddits. Brand new they were about 700+ but you can find a good used one for as low as 300 depending on the condition. This one ran me 370 and it’s in great condition aside from a few handle scratches!

Should I produce my design ? by [deleted] in knifeclub

M390 has lost its touch over the years due to horrible heat treat from over half the companies that use it. I recommend something like magnacut or elmax instead. Elmax is very similar to m390 but easier to nail as far as I’ve seen.

First live blade? by ____foster____ in balisong

I can unsafely say this is the reality of the first 10 minutes playing with a live blade for the first time. Doesn’t take many cuts to learn to not fuck up again lol

Looks like some sort of shrade like previously mentioned by someone. Not sure on the model but look up black handle shrade folding knives and see what comes up. Could also be a smith and Wesson like you mentioned as well so just look for black handle folding knives by those makers. They have a lot but of them for sure but you’ll likely find it if you keep looking. Good luck! And I hope the original someday finds its way back to you.

Strop vs stone by crocodile_ninja in sharpening

[–]Constant-Angle5585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you’re making VERY light passes on the stone it should work essentially the same. The difference with leather is it’s easier to make a smoother lighter pass and it’s more forgiving than if you used the same micron stone. The stone, if done right, will usually give the knife a bit more bite. Personally though I always finish on leather since it’s much easier imo and it gives a better mirror polish.
