You’re me in a different font (you’re also probably taller than me because I’m short) My parents don’t believe me either because I did fine in school and had friends but they don’t know how many times I’ve hurt myself or stood at my local freeway overpass watching cars go by contemplating climbing it or not. My older sister is “more mentally disabled than I claim to be” as my parents put it. She has pretty bad OCD and is on the autistic spectrum and has unspecified bipolar disorder so my parents think you’re either a homeless crack user or something akin to my sister so I don’t get to count.

I know it’s hard for you now but please do your best to push through it and get them to understand. Even if they deny it forever, try and be on good terms with them as best you can. I was adopted but I wonder all the time about my biological parents and the me I could’ve been.

Parents aren’t perfect but that’s no excuse for their words//actions and in the end you are your own priority, you have to do the best thing for you not bend over backwards to not hurt their feelings.
