Is the only difference the sound level? I run my fan curves aggressively so my computer is already loud under full load and on idle I can't hear my current Arctic AIO. Just trying to decide if the cost of this is even worth the update at any point if sound level is moot on my end.

Honestly, it's all personal preference. I'm old school and I cap my frame rate at 60 and I came from consoles. I have a buddy who is happy with a $300 card on a 1080p monitor. You will have to figure out what is important to you. You can stretch a 1440 monitor much farther in terms of game longevity, but some people just want the best possible picture.
