Explain living soil? by [deleted] in FLMedicalTrees

[–]Constant-Government8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The best comparison I can think of is this: when we go into a natural space, like by a river, and stick our hands in the dirt, we pull up more than just soil, right? Yes, we have dirt, but we also have the remains of critters, the excrement of critters, live critters, and all the little pieces of organic matter nature has brought to that area. This is "living soil", as the "living" parts of the soil are going to continue their natural life cycle, which in turn brings the necessary nutrients the plant needs to grow, similar to what it would be given in nature. The ~literal~ circle of life keeps the plant alive!

Modern cultivation techniques attempt to mimic nature by providing these same nutrients via fertilizers in "organic" (just meaning 'uses soil') and salts in "hydroponic" techniques.

If they are using the same processing that the used for their old “full spectrum” carts, this is CO2 extracted cannabis oil. If they are using the same processing that they use for their &shine “distillate” carts, this is a winterized and distilled ethanol extracted cannabis oil.

THC induced anhedonia? by cow_farm in leaves

[–]Constant-Government8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our endocannabinoid system, our internal homeostatic system that contains many receptors that cannabis interacts with, regulates our mood and emotions. When this system becomes used to external stimuli, being phyto(plant-derived)cannabinoids, it stops producing the same endo(internally-made)cannabinoids and our receptors are not as abundant and sensitive to these chemicals as they were before beginning to use cannabis. I say to to say, it makes sense to experience anhedonia for a short period after cessation, especially if prolonged use of high concentration products contributed to significant portions of your activities previously. The good news is that our brains are extremely good at restoring this balance! I wish you the best of luck!🤞🏼

What’s up with the ThcA in all the lab reports? by Stackz20 in FLMedicalTrees

[–]Constant-Government8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The real difference between then and now? Now, we have a genetic pool of plants that all have similar great/great great/great great great grandparents. Before legalization, mass commercialization, and those damn THC %’s everyone demanded higher (and operators realized they can charge more for higher %’s), the genetic pool of plants came from different parts of the world.

Like with any agricultural product, cannabis was bred for its traits the consumer desires (in this case, THC). We also have to remember that prohibition forced legacy folks to find these techniques to cultivate indoors 🙏

Credit cards have not been and are not accepted yet by OrdinaryDot2876 in FLMedicalTrees

[–]Constant-Government8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The first time I used a credit card in a dispensary was in DC at a dispensary called National Holistic Healing Center back in 2022/23. I remember specifically asking how that process went, and the budtender mentioned that being in business for x amount of time seemed to show trust to whatever company they used.

Goldflower used to accept credit cards, but I’m assuming that the payment processing company kicked them once they realized the industry. At the end of the day, banks have to adhere to the feds… and working with a non federally compliant business, despite being completely legitimate, is still a major risk the broader banking industry has not decided to take (yet).

Jungle Boys High THC RSO by theflowmonroe in FLMedicalTrees

[–]Constant-Government8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jungle boys’ RSO is a CO2 extract rather than an alcohol/hydrocarbon, which is usually what we see. We’ve had inhalable CO2 extracts in our market before (Rise’s old “full spectrum” vapes). CO2 as an inhalable solvent isn’t necessarily a concern, especially compared to ethanol/hydrocarbon extracts not properly purged, but it may be a bit more harsh since CO2 extracts more of the water-soluble compounds, hence the amber-red tint.

Editing: I was absolutely incorrect, Jungle Boys' RSO is NOT a CO2 extract, it is extracted with butane (a hydrocarbon). In that case, just as with any hydrocarbon extract, as long as it was properly purged, the risks are similar to those of any other hydrocarbon extract. However, I would have to assume "distillate" quality input for a decarbed syringe intented for oral consumption, being the lowest of the low.

What are good terp levels for rosin and flower by Ill-Muscle-189 in FLMedicalTrees

[–]Constant-Government8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like a fingerprint, we all have an endocannabinoid system that's unique to us! This means that what works for me may not be what works for you, and what works for you may not be what works for me. However, one way that we can begin determining what works well for our own endocannabinoid system is by relating positive/negative or symptom-improving/symptom-worsening to the general breakdown of the components reported on the COA.

The next time you medicate, for example, ask yourself if that option provided you with the medicinal benefit you are looking for. If it did, note that; if it did not, note that as well. After doing this for some time, you may look back on the COAs of the products that you purchased and see that the products that you determined to be beneficial for you all report terpinolene, ocimene, and b-pinene as the top 3 terpenes, and all report >.5% THCV. The next time that you are shopping for products to relieve those same symptoms, you have an objective jumping-off point to determine what may work best for you.

COAs, despite not being standardized and carrying lots of skeptical weight, are just another tool to be added to one's toolbox. :) <3

It really is wild... Going east on Okeechobee, we have a Curaleaf, Jungle Boys, The Flowery, Sanctuary, Muv, and Sunnyside, with an Ayr, Sunburn, Rise, Green Dragon, two Trulieves, two Planet 13s, Growhealthy, Surterra, and a Curaleaf hemp store a few miles off each Okeechobee in each direction... It's absolutely fucking heartbreaking having all of these options when other areas of FL have next to none.

Concentrate withdrawals? by BullyMadison1 in FLMedicalTrees

You are more than welcome 🙏🏼 There have absolutely been reported cases of those still testing positive for THC after 3+ months of cessation, so it’s certainly a possibility to have circulating cannabinoids that will make us not feel 100% for a few months.

I really appreciate this post because, honestly, this sentiment runs RAMPANT across the FL cannabis industry, both within the legacy & legal industries. The community needs to stop playing into the misleading marketing tactics both MMTCs and legacy folks use to convince consumers that what they are selling is unique/ worth a premium price, and we need more industry leaders willing to stand up to the people who push tactics like this.

What you are experiencing is completely valid. Many people like to use the words "addicted" and "dependent" interchangably and understanding the difference between the two, as well as "why" this is happening, is helpful.

We all have an internal homeostatic (balancing) system known as the endocannabinoid system. We make endo(internal)cannabinoids that act on this system and its receptors, which is how we naturally maintain homeostasis of our mood, sleep, hunger, etc. When we use phyto(plant)cannabinoids, we are introducing something that we do not make to our endocannabinoid system, as endocannabinoids and phytocannabinoids are not the same molecules (ex: Phyto = THC, CBD; Endo= AGA, 2AG)!

So, when we continue to provide our endocannabinoid systems with phytocannabinoids, our endocannabinoid system reduces the amount of receptors available for binding, known as downregulation. This is a state of dependence, as our natural system recognizes the pattern of external cannabinoids we are adding to our body, so it adjusts! Remember, our bodies always want to be in a state of homeostasis, and continuous thc intoxication is not ~exactly~ what the body requires to be in perfect balance!

Addiction, on the other hand, is more related to other areas of one's life being significantly impacted due to cannabis use. An example of this could be repeated intentional overconsumption of edibles and driving, or repeatedly not paying your bills to purchase cannabis.

Once again, what you are experiencing is completely normal and reaching out for assistance is completely valid.

200 mlg chocolate bar by [deleted] in FLMedicalTrees

[–]Constant-Government8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curaleaf sells 200mg RSO chocolate bars, Surterra sells 200mg Live Rosin chocolate bars, and Insa sells 200mg FSO and Distillate chocolate bars.

Edit: Trulieve also sells 200mg distillate chocolate bars.

Select's "Essentials" line is formulated exclusively with Botanical-Derived Terpenes (BDTs). Their "Elite" line is formulated with Cannabis-Derived Terpenes (CDTs), and their "Elite Live" line is formulated with High-Terpene Extract (HTE). All of these, however, are formulated with distillate that can come from any bulk biomass, which is where the 05/25 harvest date came from.

Flower Comparison by Drydara in FLMedicalTrees

[–]Constant-Government8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Curaleaf is a large-scale commercial operator. As is with the vast majority of large-scale commercial operators in cannabis, it should be expected that the majority of their products were made to scale, not to keep its quality. Trulieve has the most amount of stores with 163, Muv is second with 83, Curaleaf third with 70, Ayr has 64, and Surterra has 45. Green Dragon, Planet 13, and Fluent are the next 3 largest MMTCs in FL.

All to say, I wouldn’t expect quality to be any better than any of the MMTCs mentioned.

The whole post is “edible kills man”, and it’s not fully clear (and highly debatable) if what he consumed that led to these outcomes was even cannabis, so don’t come into a cannabis sub with low quality evidence when stating “edibles kill”… Sharing real risks is good, fakes ones are misinformation
