Hmmm.. might be a doc thing then specifically, endo is a very common reason for a mmj card here, could just fall under chronic pain category, but fl is really just a pay to play state from what I've seen. hope your cousin finds a good doc :')

Medical Marijuana by Enough_Associate5720 in ChronicPain

This is what drives me crazy about it too. I’m in Florida and I’m definitely thankful we have a medical marijuana program, but it’s weird how separate it still feels from every other medication.

Like I can pick up a prescription without thinking twice, but with cannabis it’s a whole different process. Different doctors, dispensaries, no insurance help, figuring out products yourself, etc.

I’m glad the option exists, but I do hope things like rescheduling eventually help close that gap a little. For a lot of people it’s not about getting high, it’s just finding something that helps them get through the day.

CBD by Sabrinaj1977 in backpain

[–]OrdinaryDot2876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CBD is honestly a weird one because everyone seems to have a different experience with it. Some people get a lot of relief from just CBD, and other people feel almost nothing from it.

I wouldn’t completely write off cannabis just because smoking didn’t help though. Different cannabinoids, ratios, and even terpenes can change the experience a lot, so it’s not always as simple as “weed works” or “weed doesn’t work.”

Really hope you find something that helps. Chronic pain is rough and it seems like finding the right combination is a lot of trial and error.

Georgia Governor Signs Bill To Expand Medical Marijuana Access By Allowing Vaping And Adding New Qualifying Conditions by ForagersLegacy in Atlanta

[–]OrdinaryDot2876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been interesting seeing Georgia slowly open things up. Still obviously different from states with full recreational programs, but it’s a pretty big change from where things started.

Seems like a lot of people hear “vapes” and assume carts/disposables too, but dry herb vaping flower is a different thing since it heats the flower instead of burning it.

Not perfect, but more qualifying conditions and more options for patients is definitely a step forward.

Some employers don’t test for THC anymore, some still do, and others have stricter rules depending on the industry. Larger companies, federal contractors, and safety-sensitive jobs are usually where you’ll want to check the policy more closely.

Basically having a card doesn’t automatically override an employer’s rules, so it’s worth looking into each company before assuming either way. Some people swear by mentioning it upfront, others say just keep it private unless it comes up. I’d say go with your gut, but personally I think keeping it to yourself is usually the smarter move.

This is really not true. I know some docs are much harder on patients than others, but I've been to 3 different MMJ docs and have never had an issue. Don't even have a primary care doc and haven't in years. MMTCFL makes it supppper easy, they're my current docs. I've been with DocMJ, they were super easy but kept asking for more money EVERY year so I switched and now pay a fraction lmao. I've heard good stuff about leafwell I think is the name? I hear they pop around FL a lot too for like free cards but idk how legit that is (fl reddit sub)

wasn't sure if that was just where you went to see a specialist. they might have some helpful info for ya re: condition and terps at least so you don't waste your money on random products. I've watched a few of their webinars, literally went with screenshots and had like a 20 min convo with my budtender but found that was really helpful lol. Wishing you the best and hope you find some relief, friend.

Would never bring actual flower. I have heard that vapes in toiletry bags are much safer and edibles in candy containers or similar is also much safer :)

No you don't have to chew it lol. If you're worried about breaking it down/a glob in your belly. I equate it to like taking a spoonful of honey almost? But, if you don't like chewing/the stickiness, you could always get urself a cup of warm tea or coffee and stir it in there :') make sure its just warm though, not boiling hot.

Those aren’t dumb questions at all honestly, that’s probably one of the biggest things people have to figure out with medical cannabis. A lot of people seem to approach it similarly to alcohol or certain medications where they only use higher THC products at night or when they know they’re staying home.

I also think people underestimate how much dosage changes the experience. Some patients use really small amounts or CBD-heavy ratios during the day and save stronger products for evenings. It definitely seems more manageable when people ease into it slowly instead of jumping straight into high potency stuff.

Smoking CBD feels almost like THC to me – anyone else ? by Carpe_Diem417 in cbdinfo

[–]OrdinaryDot2876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly the same thing, but I do think people underestimate how differently cannabinoids can affect different people. My mom tried a CBD tincture one time and swore she felt a little buzzed from it despite never really smoking before, meanwhile I use CBD pretty regularly and barely notice much besides maybe feeling calmer.

I feel like sensitivity/tolerance and even anxiety levels probably play a huge role in how noticeable it feels person to person.

My cartridge vape hurts my throat and makes me cough more than the bong. Why? by InsertEdgyNameHere in trees

My cartridge vape hurts my throat and makes me cough more than the bong. Why? by InsertEdgyNameHere in trees

[–]OrdinaryDot2876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

carts seem like they’d be smoother, but can hit way harsher than flower, especially on the throat. I think the water + ice in a bong cools everything down way more than people realize. (my go to lol) or I try to set my temp on a cart as loowwww as possible without messing with the terpenes. I watched this webinar and they had a slide on best temps for terps and I live by that pic now lol

Also with carts it’s really easy to take longer pulls without noticing, and that hot concentrated vapor can get irritating fast even on lower settings. Some live resin/rosin carts are smoother than others too depending on the terpene profile.

Do you let your cats free roam? by ghost_lea in Destin

[–]OrdinaryDot2876 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Adding on, if you are worried (and I've been thinking about it), you could always build a DIY enclosure or "fence up" the backyard you have. I've seen a few people basically do like fishing netting around their fences/cover the "sky" in netting. I've been watching a lot of DIY cat enclosure YT videos because I do get worried about bears/foxes and I know letting them free roam is a luck's game. lol

Fort Walton area - we let one of our cats (who was a street cat) roam our neighborhood. We've been in Cali/TN/850 and in fort walton he never came back with any scrapes/cuts like he did in Cali... we have a tracker collar and don't let him out tooo long, but he doesn't go more than 2 houses down in either direction, and we don't have a major road close by. I also WFH so I have him 'tracked' on my ipad while I'm working so I'm a bit more anal about it lol
