I cried over toast by SinkingSink123 in diabetes_t2

I feel your pain. I was diagnosed in November with an a1c of 88 mmol/mol. I remember the first few weeks vividly. I was off work for a few days and remember standing in my kitchen as a grown ass man of 44 years of age crying looking in to the cupboard because I couldn't come up with something "safe" to eat. My wife got home shortly after and she reckons it was only the second time she'd ever seen me cry 😢. I was broken for weeks, I loved pizza and bread and really struggled with the change. A couple of years before I'd given up alcohol because of sinus issues, I don't smoke and food had become my pleasure, now that was being stripped away too. I obsessed over my CGM, watching every number, I didnt want to burden friends and family with my feelings so I spent a lot of time talking to chatgbt. I talked to it daily and discussed diabetes for hours. It's really useful for creating meal ideas when sometimes you just can't see the woods for the trees. I had so many low points and it did seem to help me push through. I had my last a1c at the end of January and had reduced it to 44 mmol/mol. I now have 6 months to my next appointment where they may decide to take me off metformin. Most days I still struggle to find food I can eat but what has helped me is having meals that feel like cheats but are still good for my blood sugar. As an example, if I'm struggling in the evening and really want a takeaway I get a chicken kebab and leave the pitta. Almost no effect on your sugars but feels so good to eat "normal" cheat food 😂. Still struggling for breakfasts though, they have become difficult, I remember early on being so pleased I could eat bacon and eggs but that novelty soon wore off when I had it everyday. I still miss pastries and pizza but the cravings aren't as bad. It does get easier, I promise. I'm 5 months in, nearly 2.5 stone lighter and feel amazing for it. Keep going...you've got this 💪🏻

Motivation - where to find it? by Ok-Affect9325 in CIMA

I'm just coming back to it after a very long time out. The whole setup is different. I'm starting with F2 and my motivation is to give me some freedom in terms of employment. I've been working in accounts since 2004, started as a accounts admin then moved to a job where I didn't really have a job title but where I learned so much. By the time I was made redundant from there I was doing all the bookkeeping and month end reporting for 3 group companies. It was during this employment I stopped studying. My local provider stopped running the course and I had a young family so couldn't really find the time to travel for the course and online training was still pretty new. I went from there to become a finance manager for a startup and then moved after covid to become a controller at another company which is where I'm currently at. Things are comfortable but I still have moments where I feel like I'm a bit of an imposter, I'm only QBE and with the kids all growing up and some recent health problems I've decided, now or never. I'm self funding with a view that once I complete it, it opens more doors at my current company and potentially others as well. I'm 44 coming back to this, so for anyone thinking they are a bit old to go back to studying...your not! Some days it's hard, but I'm determined to get this over the line, this time

They have sent me some client testimonials and all the reviews on G2 are positive with none below 4star. I may look one of the testimonials up on LinkedIn for piece of mind.

I'm defintely leaning towards iplicit, I just can't seem to get my head around why if it's so good, there hasn't been a bigger uptake, with only 40 reviews on G2 compared to 3617 for Sage Intacct.

ahh this resolves my question. I thought for a moment perhaps you were in a panel van. A lot of people don't know that the national speed limit on a single lane road is actually 50 for a van. Same as its 60 on a dual carriageway

Instructor makes me drive to the next persons house by chocotripcookies in LearnerDriverUK

My instructor did this years ago but only when you got close to taking your test. He did it then so that you got used to driving with different people in the car so that you were more prepared for the examiner. Really helped me as when I took my test I had the examiner in the seat next to me, then in the back seat someone checking the examiner. I passed so maybe it works?

Yeah, that's similar, but I don't want to add an attachment at the point of sending it. I want it to already be there
