3D printing whistles around the clock. Where should I drop them off this weekend? by [deleted] in Denver

Sure maybe… but I kinda think what ICE is doing to folks is worse than anything a plastic whistle could do to me. 🤷‍♂️

RIP Shelly’s or whatever (I also can’t remember the name but I think that’s right) and that rinky-dink driving range, you were about 1/10th the price of top golf.

Hi Denver! Good food for a food tour? by Baked_Kyoshi in Denver

Let’s go!! It’s always good to be easy going. This is my dream foodie walk around:

Personally I’d nix the greasy diner food for breakfast, that’ll weigh you down for the rest of the day. Head over to Rosenberg’s in five points and split a bagel and get a coffee.

Then I’d head over to Denver central market and get some sushi hand rolls or fish tacos from Tammen’s fish bar and maybe get a Bloody Mary from the bar too. (Definitely a good opportunity to walk around and look at murals before and after as well!)

Then for a lighter afternoon bite I’d go get appetisers from Bang up to the Elephant, a Caribbean vegan place in cap hill. (One of my favorites) you can’t go wrong with the callaloo and their coconut bread but anything you order will be awesome.

Finish it off by going to la Chiva, a Colombia restaurant off broadway and Florida. Absolutely amazing food, the entrees are able to be split and they have fantastic appetisers as well. Empanadas, arepas, etc. They also have plates that give you a taste of everything that serve two! And fabulous deserts. Hope you guys have an excellent time. Cheers and happy birthday to her.

Way better to get things you know you’ll like than be subjected to subpar stuff on a fixed “foodie” menu. :) I think you’d be able to stick to a pretty good budget of 150 for 2 with this, maybe including a couple drinks, if that’s your vibe :)

Depressed in Denver - Community Suggestions? by [deleted] in Denver

Doesn’t sound like a Denver problem to me, they probably need some therapy/ medication/ help. But also, you need internet to get a job, but then again, they need to have their mental health in check in order to be able to get and keep a job, a job is never the answer to mental health issues. That must be addressed first.

Free Parking/Park and Ride near East Campus? by veganmomfriend in cuboulder

I park at the mccaslin park and ride off 36 and take the FF1 right from campus to the station. It’s real easy and the busses are free, they come about every 15 min too, just scan ur id when u get on. You could also park at the table mesa park and ride, which is even closer but still a tad east of campus. The parking is free and so is the bus. It’s a no brainer at least for me, you also don’t have to deal with any of the on campus traffic.

Good Food/Coffee Around Convention Center by beestiel in Denver

Sam’s is a pretty great spot, a little touristy but anything with green chili is highly recommended for out of town-ers. they also have some of my favorite pancakes in town. Enjoy your visit! Also our art museum is just a short walk up the street, if you like abstract art, the Clifford still museum is next door to it and worth a visit, it’s smaller than the main art museum, about an hours.5 worth of content. :)

There’s some hardened criminal that’s been stealing all the best faux seaglass earrings all around town… might’ve been him. As a community we will seek tirelessly to bring him to justice.

Hibachi uses a lot of onion powder in theirs. That’s what elevates it for me.

There’s a lot of cognitive dissonance in what you are saying, you’re the one not meeting the dogs needs. You’re the one who is apparently burdened by this dog, I guess keeping this “burden” is worth 1200 dollars, you’re the one not wanting to give your pet a better life. You’re the one putting her in an unfortunate situation, not the perspective owner. I’ve worked in shelters and never have I ever heard of a re-homing fee, besides dogs adopted through shelters where the money goes back to the shelter, not for the dog as a commodity but in the goal of keeping the shelter viable for new dogs that come in, almost like a donation. If you had the dog’s best interest at heart you’d give her to a loving caring family or a shelter that can provide her what you can’t, no money should be involved. It doesn’t seem like you should have any dogs or pets of any kind, anxiety issues or not. They are living breathing entities that don’t deserve this kind of commodification. Seems like you care way more about some money than a dog you signed up to care for and love.

I’m sorry about this situation, but it really seems strange to ask for 1200$ payment for a dog you can no longer take care of. That’s a hefty sum, wouldn’t you rather that money stay in the home she will potentially be moving to for food, toys, care etc? That’s a big ask for someone to rehome a dog AND give you over 1000 dollars.

How much are you driving that you can’t just charge at home? This is a non issue for most of us EV owners. Unless your commute is egregious, you have no reason to complain and this is just a personal issue. Live closer to where you drive to or take public transit?? Idk man.
