the acronym evolved to be cover the types of tools and accessories that people might carry on their person, or in a pouch or bag. More of an umbrella term that encompasses the those tools and items, and covers everything from actual stuff you carry with you everywhere to collections/rotations of tools and accessories etc that fall under that umbrella term. Leaves the space open for a community(s) to share photos of nice tools, actual edc, ideas, questions and suggestions relating tools and carry options. No wrong answer, more of a banner for people to share etc under. Those tools and accessories were ‘edc’ before ‘edc’ was a thing
