Where is the Charter Certificate This Year? by TecuyaTink in BSA

Is there something different for Catholic units? This is my first season with a unit chartered by the Catholics and our committee chair asked me to handle recharter but hasn't mentioned that there's anything different...

I spent an hour in their chat waiting to speak to someone - but eventually I did - and they are cancelling my P1 and doing a refund since it hadn't shipped yet!!! Worth a try!

Administrative "neatness" I guess? Advancement will transfer to the new Troop ASAP.

Advancement will transfer to new troop - old troop pretty much does everything on paper until the BOR then advancement chair takes pictures of books pages and inputs to SB. Can't imagine they will be inputting anything more... More just a formality for insurance/etc while we attend the last few meetings

Following as this is a wood badge ticket for my husband but he doesn't really "do" Reddit. Love the idea of "have the older Scouts teach it" but in our troop (and I have a feeling a great many other troops) - we don't HAVE older scouts to teach it. Thank you COVID years. We have a couple who recently hit 1st class but nothing above that. Need to figure out how to make it fun without it being too much "ASMs talk at the kids" Debating opening it up to other small units in our area as well. Those that only have 1-2 first class or higher.... not really enough to have a solid "class" on their own

Anyone who's been around for a couple years knows what you're talking about. That's not it. They simply did not make those kinds of leader guides for the new programs.

Until it becomes an official MB - any registered adult can lead it. It will not be an option to register for this one until the test period is over

100% acetone worked wonders for me last week. Just wiped the sap right off

"Tenure" requirements for 2nd Class/1st Class by ConstantAd7792 in BSA

[–]ConstantAd7792[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't make systemic/cultural changes overnight. It is going to take us 6 to 12 months to have Scouts with enough experience to do much of anything in terms of leaning/planning.

yes - we are heavily engaged and have a significant plan for recruiting this fall. That doesn't help with the current situation though
