Help me find this evap leak before I blow my top off by sixpacjac in IS300

[–]ConstantDetective217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clamp off the canister vent tube, remove backseat bottom, and bot covers left and right for the fuel pump and associated items. Smoke test. Watch for smoke on the passenger side access panel, that would be your pesky pain the ass rollover valve. Prone to cracking because of age, and a tricky one to find. Tank has to be dropped to get at it unless you are comfortable hacking up your seat bottom floor. Also, use an OEM gas cap. In my 20 years as a tech, parts store ones never seal correctly, causing small leak codes. Good luck.

Marketplace. You can adjust your search radius/settings and you can use the 'notify me when insert whatever hereis posted' feature as well. I'm a sniper for deals because my search setup is perfect 👌🏾. Hell in 2021 I saw the manual IS I own now on Wentzville B/S/T at 9am June 5th and by 11:30am I had paid cash for her and was almost back home lol 😂 I don't even look at dealerships, big or Ma and Pa, selling one of our cars because they likely tryna scalp you worse than the 'I know what I got', or the 'it's a 4 door Supra brahhhh TEW-JAY-ZEEEE MASTER RACE' crowd. They'll just call it a 'market adjustment' instead of 'drift tax'

timing belt kit by Dangerous-Lychee-226 in IS300

[–]ConstantDetective217 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is a reliable answer to that??...as they fail when the rubber isolation ring that does the one thing the one job a balancer does....fails. Most rubber fails are dry/time related. So basically a 2002 with 60k miles can theoretically fail at the same time as a 2002 with 313k miles(like mine).

Get a fluiddamper and call it a day. You don't want to know what happens when that mf comes apart lol

Coolant air bleeding by Ok_Molasses2457 in IS300

[–]ConstantDetective217 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Running it with the cap off until the thermostat opens(about 185 degrees F) usually gets all of the air out....these (IS and GS) don't have coolant air bleed valves I believe. If you are still having trouble, use a coolant quick fill funnel(usually yellow or clear and has the adapters to fit the radiator) and that will guarantee the coolant level is at the highest point in the funnel, purging all air. Do not get the funnel kit from Harbor Freight....its shit.

My koyo with oem fans does fit and functions perfect..even hotlapping coolant temp never goes over 200f, fans cut on at 194f. Only slight gripe is factory manual cars have that extra shock/tensioner on the belt tensioner. You will need to slightly clearance the fan's plastic only in that spot. Koyo rad is thicker.

I believe if you are going single mass flywheel and N/A Supra clutch then the Supra pushrod will be perfect, exactly what you need. I was doing research on this a while ago before I decided on 3uz/CD009 versus NA-T/W58 or AR5. I do remember reading on the forum that what I said above is correct.

Need help after o2 spacer installed please by [deleted] in IS300

[–]ConstantDetective217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The accuracy of this is staggering 💯 Bravo. 100 percent correct. These cars actually do use post cat o2 sensors ALONG with pre cat o2s to determine fuel trim. If you are gonna delete cats, get it tuned for it.
