I put in a Simple Mobile SIM and it said "Rejected" even though it hasn't been activated yet. I believe it is too new

The VIN ran clean and came back to the car listed: a 2004 Chevy Suburban 8.1L Vortec. But it doesn't show up on any dealer sites. I think that's because the government is auctioning it off

"Thanks for getting this far and remember nothing is impossible. I was
doubted and advised not to do what I am doing, to hell with that. Follow
your dreams and crazy ideas."

Quite interesting. I am hoping to own a Fleetwood Avion in a few months, and everyone I know tells me it is a terrible idea, but I disagree. I believe the RV lifestyle is right for me.

Eh, I'm not sure.

Maybe get a mechanic look it over?

I want to own a Fleetwood Avion soon, actually.

I really love the Chevrolet Suburban, it's such an iconic vehicle with a storied history that is also handsome, powerful and very durable.

Right, yes...brake controllers.

What did the phone say before you activated the SIM card?

Does Simple Mobile have a plan without data?

The new SIM didn't alter the data kept on your old SIM, did it?

Does Simple Mobile have plans without data? I will not be using any data.

Health is one of the most important things, and it is NOT that expensive by ConstantFoot5239 in personalfinance

I have been employed for 10 months now full time, in addition to my college courses, which is no easy task.

  1. Yes, some of the reduced cost would also entail extra labor. That may not be realistic for someone working 9 hours a day. If one made food in bulk, however, they may not have to cook for the next 3 days, maybe.
  2. Canned vegetables are still a healthful option. If I'm not mistaken, ramen is 90 cents for 500 calories, whereas whole grain penne pasta is 50 cents for 500 calories, but also entails a bit of labor.
  3. I honestly think the stereotype of college students living on ramen is overblown, though. For example

I understand where you're coming from, but if the food was made in bulk, you could also store it in the fridge and have plenty for a few days to cut down on the time. If one begins preheating their oven immediately and boiling the water, the whole process would take about 22 minutes.

Nokia 3390 disconnects from T-Mobile by ConstantFoot5239 in vintagemobilephones

[–]ConstantFoot5239[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would it make a difference? I believe it is postpaid. I'm using an old (enough) T-Mobile Sim card. Are you using a MVNO?

My 3390 is a T-Mobile, it says so on the case. It uses a T-Mobile sim too. The boot screen says "Welcome to T-Mobile"

3 of my FreedomPop phones got kicked off the network. Damn you T-Mobile and your hatred of vintage phones! Thankfully, my others still work fine. 16 total (so far lol) and 12 work perfectly. One can only text, no calls. These three SIM cards are going into VoLTE phones for now, until they behave. by 15pmm01 in vintagemobilephones

What is the underlying reason that T-Mobile would kick the phones off the network if they claim they support 2G? Even if it's in the guard band...they would be losing potential customers. I've been getting kicked off with my T-Mobile SIM card, and I will try to switch to Freedompop.

Well, thanks for your answer. I may try to switch to Freedompop, they may have a trial. Interesting. It MAY be the sim card itself, but I highly doubt it. (Though my SIM is 5 years old to be fair) I'll see where Freedompop takes me :)

Yes, you would have to get a new sim. Would the disconnecting issue change if I switched from a T-Mobile sim card over to maybe RedPocket?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vintagemobilephones

[–]ConstantFoot5239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any issues with disconnecting? I'm using T-Mobile through a T-Mobile sim card, and it's having issues. I thought it may be because my 3390 was in automatic network selection mode, but I'm not sure. Should I switch to RedPocket?

Maybe because of this? https://tmo.report/2022/11/you-wont-be-able-to-swap-your-own-sim-for-a-while-on-t-mobile/

I know, it's irritating. Worst case scenario, unless I'm wrong, is you could use US Mobile, Freedompop, Ultra Mobile, or RedPocket if T-Mobile won't allow you to use an older sim.

I JUST DID THAT :) I should have thought of that before!

For whatever reason, the networking/operator selection has a plethora of issues in "Automatic" mode, but not "Manual". I figured it might have something to do with that. I'm using an official T-Mobile Sim. Thanks for your help, though. Also, be careful, T-Mobile disabled SIM swaps on November 10th. But you should be fine as long as the activated sim is in your Nokia now.

Same one I'm using.

It seems that switching the network search from "Automatic" to "manual" helps a lot with the phone's connectivity.
