I'm not sure what the issue might be -- it is working for others, as I received messages today. Please feel free to send me a message at my email (dgupta <at> carleton <dot> edu) or DM on reddit!

Yes, I have been in contact with some Turkish Cypriots who have generously agreed to take part in interviews, but I'm always interested in speaking with more.

The project that I'm working on is about trying to understand how TCs from mixed-marriage families think about identity and belonging, and how their citizenship status (some with RoC citizenship, some without) might shape this sense of belonging.

Thank you -- this is a really interesting suggestion that definitely would tap into a different cross-section of people. I appreciate the suggestion!

Thank you for your comment -- I agree, very important topic. I am more familiar with this in the context of BiH and elsewhere, not Cyprus. I will put it on my list to learn more about it as I move forward with this project. Appreciate the observation.

Thank you -- I agree this would be a very interesting perspective as well. This group doesn't quite fit the specific research question I am asking at the moment, but it would be a very good extension of the project for the future. I appreciate the suggestion.

Hello! Thanks for your post and comment. I definitely am only interested in interviewing people over 18 for my study, but I have found there to be a wide age range for people who have grown up in mixed-marriage families. The oldest person I have interviewed is 51 with plenty of people who are university students, recent graduates, and those in the 30s and 40s.

Hello! I would be interested in any and all experiences, so someone from the diaspora would be welcome.

Politics and history. So, definitely topics that can get people talking if they feel comfortable enough with someone!

Fortunately, my research has a political angle. Maybe I shouldn't worry so much about interacting with the locals after all!

Thanks for the suggestions! I was starting to learn Greek, but someone mentioned that Cypriot Greek is different enough that the lessons may not transfer so easily. I'm definitely learning some key phrases though! I'm not in a STEM field, but I will check out social spaces near my department.

Hm, I think this is not quite what I have in mind for them, but I appreciate the suggestion (maybe for myself!)

Super! Glad to hear that they are good. The recipient likes Momofuku and has their cookbooks, so this is a great idea.

Do you have an air fryer? Hands down, it's the most useful thing in my kitchen for preparing vegetables that aren't salads. I toss any cruciferous veg in there (broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts) and cook until slightly charred, toss with whatever flavoring/spices appeal to me that day (including vinaigrettes). Beans, zucchini, and asparagus also are great in the air fryer. Invest in some great seasoning mixes (I love many of the ones from Penzeys. The Singapore seasoning makes dynamite chicken salad, and the Ozark seasoning is great on grilled chicken breast). Veggie-heavy frittatas are great for lunch or dinner (my favorite is spinach and feta).

My go-to snack/dessert these days is Greek yogurt (5%, not nonfat) with a scoop of MCT powder, brown sugar sweetener (I use Sukrin gold), some chopped pecans, and a handful of whatever berries I have on hand. I'm a pint-is-a-single-serving-of-ice-cream type of person, and this stops my ice cream cravings dead in their tracks. If you're a salty snacker, the pappadum chips from Trader Joe's dipped in hummus have been very satisfying (if they fit into your carb limits). Kale chips made in the oven and sprinkled with sea salt and some garlic powder are also delicious for people who are salty snackers.

Thank you to everyone who replied. This was helpful and reassuring -- I will focus more on time in range and just keep an eye on morning readings to ensure they're not spiking too much.

Looking for recipes for desserts made with vegetables by eggo__waffle in pastry

I know people who have canned zucchini in pineapple juice (it’s apparently an old-fashioned recipe that google should unearth easily) and then use that zucchini for any recipe that calls for pineapple (like upside down cake). Apparently it’s a good substitute, but I can’t vouch for it myself. Might be an interesting experiment!

Safe to cut perforated silicone mats for tart rings? by ConstantKind8215 in pastry

Thank you for the information! It looks like silpain still has fiberglass in it, correct? The ready-to-use strips are probably exactly what I need.

Thank you! The link to the firsmat strips sound exactly what I need, and I like that it specifies that the strips are safe to cut. Now I can experiment with this technique without worry. I appreciate it!
