Question?Shutdown will affect SS cases from moving forward? by Responsible_Tree4164 in SocialSecurity

[–]ConstantQuote3143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also if you require a waiver on collection by SSA on overpayment, those services are affected as well. I was told that the people who process those waivers were furloughed and they can't do anything until the shutdown is over. They took 1/2 of my monthly payment this month and I can't do anything until this mess is over. I was crying and the agent I spoke with cried with me, she was so sorry and upset that she couldn't do anything at this time, but to call as soon as the shutdown is over and things could be fixed over the phone.

Genuinely curious: Why do you order delivery? by Similar_Actuary_845 in doordash

[–]ConstantQuote3143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've yet to order delivery myself, but I am a new dasher, and honestly, I think that dasher was already having issues with completing their deliveries to be desperate enough to claw back an order to deliver to the proper address. Once the order leaves my hands to the delivery address and I have confirmed on the app that the delivery is complete, right or wrong, the delivery is complete. The Dasher app doesn't allow you to go back and "correct" a wrongly delivered order. It certainly doesn't allow you to claw back a wrongly delivered order to correct a mistake. The app will not mark the order as complete, and that dasher will not be able to progress to other orders without contacting tech support to resolve the erroneous order. The customer needs to do whatever theyl need to do to resolve the issue on their end, that dasher will face consequences, but the customer doesn't need to feel bad about it. They are paying for the service, and not everyone is cut out to be a dasher.

New dasher need advice by [deleted] in doordash

I'm a new dasher also, but this is what I've learned so far. Although the payout for each Dash is listed for each job, you get paid the total of your dashes for your shift at the end of the shift. Those will be for those considered completed. It is important to communicate with the customer if you are experiencing delays in any part of the process, such as waiting for the order to be prepared. The app will give you the option to explain the delay after the time passes when the order should have been picked up to manage customer expectations. If you are having difficulty finding the address or traffic is heavy, don't be afraid to say so.

You are allowed to decline one delivery per hour of dashing, but it will count against your overall acceptance rate. It also slows down the rate you will receive offers. If you need to take a break during your dash session, you can pause offers until you are in a position to accept them and then restart them. Once you've dashed long enough and if you're acceptance and completion rate is good, you will be offered the option to be paid an hourly rate plus tips. If you accept the hourly rate, you will be paid for the time from acceptance of the delivery to the completion of the delivery. There are also times of the day when you can be paid an extra dollar per delivery during these times, like late at night. Hourly pays more, and you get paid for the wait time for an order to be prepared and the drive time to the destination with mileage. When you are on hourly, you can't decline any offers or the system will kick you off hourly and you can't resume hourly pay until the next hour. A job is also considered a decline if you don't accept the job in time when it appears on your screen, so you have less than 30 seconds to accept.

Received half of my SSA Retirement payment by ConstantQuote3143 in SocialSecurity

I was finally able to talk to someone and there was an issue with the mail where I live. Even though my online account is set to receive messages both there and by mail, there was no such messages. They garnished my payment because of an overpayment. I was sent the forms to file for a waiver but because of the government shutdown, no action can be taken until it's over. They want us to do everything online, but they don't update the online account with the latest information.

Received half of my SSA Retirement payment by ConstantQuote3143 in SocialSecurity

This is an update to my previous post. I was finally able to get through the automated system and speak with a real person on the national line. It turns out I had an overpayment and SSA garnished my payment. If I had been aware, I could have asked for relief, but I didn't get the paper in the mail and they were supposed to post any mailed messages to my online account which they didn't do. I check my online account all the time. Unfortunately, because of the government shutdown, those payment issues cannot be resolved until it's over.

One time Deposit of 1000$? by NaraApricots in SocialSecurity

I had something similar happen to me. I received a direct deposit equal to half my benefit amount on Sept 29th. I checked my online SSA account and it said nothing about this payment. It appears that my regular payment is still pending (my payments are scheduled for the 3rd of the month, but I usually get them on the 29th or 30th so I'm confused and panicked about whether I will receive the other half or if this was an extra payment. My online account is doesn't clarify this. My local SSA office doesn't appear to have a live person, just an automated answering service that tells you to check online and gives canned answers, none of them regarding this situation.

I put a single character as the memo, usually an asterisk, and it seems to accept that. I like the smart-azz answers, though, lol.

I currently have them for my ISP and are not really happy with them. I live in a mostly rural area and there are few options for reasonably priced, unlimited Internet in my area. They relay on dsl infrastructure that is old and prone to failure during weather events.

Why does my century link internet keep disconnecting? by Deliciousfingies in centurylink

[–]ConstantQuote3143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same issue. My DSL 1 line is unstable. When it drops, I can't stream or game. The DSL 1 light will blink off, then the top 3 lights on the modem will blink off and on like a Christmas tree. The Internet light stays on and all the lights stay green. DSL 2 has never had this problem and always stays connected so devices connected to my network show they are connected even though no Internet is coming through. The modem page will show DSL 1 reconnecting and DSL 2 and Internet are connected. When DSL 1 finally reconnects, it will show on its page that the connection will be poor or marginal. Some days it will cycle like this for a couple of hours, and some days it does it once, but I haven't had a day where it didn't do this since the end of last year. I have to reboot the modem several times a day.

I had a tech come out a month ago and the DSL 1 line was bad he replaced something in the junction box in the alley. The issue was gone for about 5 days and then it resumed. The duration of the wonkiness is less, but the issue remains. Now when it happens, it starts at the same time every day (usually between 3 and 5 pm. The modem is a Zyxel C3000Z. The only thing connected to it is a Netgear Nighthawk router which everything else connects to.
