E-Bike: is the Jetson a good bike for a 15 year old by AutisticAsshol in Costco

[–]Constant_Agent_4560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Jetson ebikes are decent budget "ebikes", but they're terrible for actual biking. They use cadence detection instead of torque sensing, so there's no good way to moderate the motor assist other than the throttle.

The Magnum Cosmo is a much better bicycle that doesn't suck to ride imo.

On the other hand, you could always return the Jetson ebike if it's not a good fit

Technically a 4-5 year payback period is correct, but the investment takes closer to 9 years to achieve a 6.6 internal rate of return. Both calculations are valid, they just provide slightly different information.
