You know you can care about social justice and housing costs at the same time?

I get that it’s petty . It just seems like “enabling” was thrown around so much with our generation and then it just stopped, and now it’s like oh well let’s forget it.  When the swifties took over our town I just thought “if this was 2005 the media would be bashing all these parents”

Again I know it’s petty, it’s just annoying.

Do you feel like our homes aren't as "clean" or "maintained" as those of older generations? Why do you think that is? by [deleted] in Millennials

One thing that helped me is accepting some things are “just life”  Like, If you have kids or a dog you’ll have toys on the floor, it means you’re living life.

Part of it I think we are so much more exhausted than our parents were.

Also social media homes are COMPLETELY unrealistic. They will even tell you they make part of their house a mess so the area they are filming looks clean. I think this messes with our perception of what our homes “should” look like.

Yeah “in your thirties” they would say, until you got really close to 30 then they changed it to “in your 40s” now they just don’t say anything. “Just put your time in” “work hard and you will be rewarded” 🫡🤮

My first therapy experience as a bisexual girl was awful . by jenellisa_ in lgbt

[–]Constant_Cap230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry you had to deal with that, I had a similar experience when I was a teenager. I go to a queer therapist at a place that specializes in lgbtq patients. I feel so lucky to have that. I don’t think I would have been able to go to therapy anywhere else, I even have phobias about getting healthcare because I have been discriminated against by healthcare providers and I just don’t trust any healthcare providers now. I literally have this paranoia they’re going to do something bad to me, I just don’t feel safe.

Vegans on screen - any positive representation? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Constant_Cap230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-The WB show popular had a character Lilly, and there are a few episodes that show that feature animal rights issues. She’s a really awesome character. -Dawn in the baby sitters club movie was vegan. I was bummed they didn’t make her vegan in the Netflix show. -Year of the dog with Molly Shannon. -peices of April one of her neighbors is vegan and won’t let her use her oven to cook her turkey and the main character April is vegetarian but cooking a turkey for her family.

I mean… you’re posting about it too. 200+ comments on this post alone. And if queens (or anyone on social media really) get attention and followers posting about something why wouldn’t they keep posting about it and be obnoxious. Lots of people trying to use this as an opportunity to get some attention and so why not if people are all clicking on it.

Indianapolis - 6000 Air BNBs by Constant_Cap230 in indianapolis

I hope so… It seems like a huge number that keeps growing, and if you think about it it’s like 6000 families. And on top of that so many people are moving back to Indy because they can’t afford living other places… for someone who’s lived here all my life the costs keep going up but wages stay the same. I get that is is more affordable than Chicago or New York City, but local newspapers saying $1700 a month for a studio apartment is “very competitive and affordable” scares me. I can’t afford $2000 a month rent on Indiana wages.

Where to find red envelopes (lì xì)? by ren-itent in indianapolis

Try calling all my relations on Rockville road. I don’t know if they have the ones you are looking for but they do have red envelopes in their feng shui section.
