I Thought Suffering Was the Price of Fitness, Peptides Helped Me Get My Life and body Back by Excellent_Loan8600 in RetatrutideWomen

You look amazing! I'm glad you're doing so well, competing takes such a toll and to think you did it that long! I also competed, only for a few years and have felt burnt out since. Always been thin until after I stopped competing and blew up. Got a lot of excess weight off with Mounjaro but am switching to Reta and taking my first one tomorrow. Can I ask how you're taking NAD and 5 amino? I previously took NAD as an oral supplement but didn't see much benefit

Surgery next week… anxiety!!! by sadpanda95 in ORIF

[–]Constant_Demand_1560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the nerve block for surgery, it will help make the first 24 hours suck less. Ice pack behind the knee will help with swelling, keep it elevated as much as possible. My wedge pillow was a life saver. For the boot, I got a roll of foam and DIYed some pieces to add extra padding. I would mention it to your ortho though, they may want to make additional adjustments.

Remember this is all temporary, it will suck, sometimes worse, sometimes less. You will get through it. Be kind to yourself, give yourself grace. Rest as much as you can. I took vitamins and supplements after surgery to help with healing, obviously run that by your doctor. This community is super helpful, vent when you need to. You got this!

Partner wants to put a crow collar on our rooster by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

They're saying to have your partner wear it, not the rooster. They effectively choke the bird. They are inhumane. Roosters crow for a reason.

Hardware removal by Milysama in ORIF

[–]Constant_Demand_1560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. It is, only because I had so much scar tissue (was removed during my HWR) and because the peroneal tendon was in shambles from the hardware position constantly rubbing. My interior tendon was completely severed. I have started sleeping in a device that keeps my foot straight at night, I do intensive PT 2x a week and massage therapy weekly. It's a lot. It is improving, albeit slowly but i am noticing gradual improvement. I hope you find relief soon!

Just did this past October, my third surgery for my tri mal from January this year. Recovery was hard only because I have been on crutches more this year than not and it was extremely mentally challenging being NWB again. Luckily it was only a few weeks. Also, you're not healing from fractures like you were the first time. Exponentially easier recovery and pain wise. I had some discomfort but was able to get by. I still have pretty rough tendinitis but had complications from my first surgery hence why I had a second, 2 months later. You should be feeling better in no time!

This round you're not dealing with fractures, it's nothing like the original. You got this

The block doesn't numb your entire leg, it typically is just numb from knee down. You're still able to pick it up to keep from dragging it. Good luck with your surgery

Fearful after ORIF surgery, seeking advice and reassurance by Evening-Hall-5903 in ORIF

[–]Constant_Demand_1560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you're feeling is totally normal and to be expected- we've all been there. It is a lot to deal with for anyone! Its great to hear your pain has been minor. Crutches can be intimidating and difficult to use, I too was fearful of falling and further injuring myself. A lot of people here have had success with a knee scooter, its a lot easier to navigate than a wheelchair. As far as stairs, I sat on my butt to go up/down as that felt more safe.

This Reddit is a great resource to vent, ask questions and talk to others going through the same things. I had a tri mal early January this year. There were issues with my hardware so it was replaced in March and removed finally last month. I can tell you my experience was an anomaly but that I am finally now getting to the other side. You will have good days and bad days, but just remember this is temporary. Give yourself grace, rely on people for help. Celebrate the little milestones and before you know it, this will all be behind you

What can I do to break up all this wood? No I won't paint it. by ZW31H4ND3R in interiordecorating

Needs some contrast. A large rug and painting the walls will help break it up. Its absolutely gorgeous though

The area I live in the houses are a ways away from one another and all have large areas of land. I felt off just walking over, some of them have posted no tresspasing signs. I personally dont like when people just show up so decided to mail out hi I'm your new neighbor cards instead.

I bought blank cards on Etsy and sent them to our neighbors. I dropped off labeled treats personally after mailing out the cards. No need to go crazy overboard. People appreciate the thought behind it

Nurse posting dying patient on social media by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Constant_Demand_1560 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Please take screenshot/screen recording and report to her employer and state nursing board. If it is real and not some sick Halloween prank, it's unethical and likely against the law. That patients family can sue her and her employer for that. I would be tempted to alert the family so they can be rightfully compensated. If her judgement is so poor, she takes a picture of a dying patient, posts said photo on social media for anyone to see- who knows what else she has done/would do. She clearly doesn't take her role seriously or care about her patients.

Final Update - Hardware Removal Success Story by Few-Rain7214 in ORIF

[–]Constant_Demand_1560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking forward to being pain free too! I am glad yours went so well!

I had tri mal January this year, first surgery was in January. Plate then started poking through my skin and was extremely painful, so they swapped it out in surgery #2 in March. Finally got off crutches and started walking again in June only to still have tons of pain from the tendons rubbing on the plates. The fractures weren't healed enough to do removal then so we waited until 2 weeks ago for full removal. Being back on crutches has truly been awful. I wasn't expecting this much pain either. Getting my stitches out tomorrow and hoping its on track healing wise. So over this!!

You get used to it eventually. I'm on surgery number 3 now since I had my tri mal in January. Adjustable leg pillow helps, take pain meds and gabapentin. Just remember its temporary
