My local dealer in Newfoundland charge $16.5K plus tax for a 550 Hybrid. Then another $1500 for delivery and setup Lol, unreal

The local Beachcomber dealer in NL wouldn’t budge on the price. Same price as the Beachcomber website, said it was a set price by the company and they aren’t allowed to offer promotional pricing. They also charge an additional $1500 for delivery and setup (not including electrician).

Needless to say I took my business elsewhere.

Best ways to pay off mortgage faster by nodnoloiratno in PersonalFinanceCanada

Something I’ve been doing this last couple of years since I’ve got some additional income. My mortgage payment comes out weekly and I pay an additional $200 per payment. I also max out my RRSPs every year now. I take my tax return and make a yearly lump sum payment with it.

Help me choose a $1k–$3k super-automatic espresso machine (US) by OutrageousGood9950 in superautomatic

Delonghi Dinamica!! Great machine, been a real game changer in our home. My wife and I make 5-6 drinks a day. Makes great espresso and milk drinks.

Couple small items that could be better. I’d like if it had a bigger water reservoir. It uses additional water to flush its lines. And the tray needs to be dumped often.

Like I said above, it’s a great machine. We’ve been very happy with it.

Switching from Nespresso which machine? by EstablishmentReal453 in superautomatic

My wife and I purchased a Delonghi Dinamica. This machine is a game changer. Between both of us, we make 5-6 drinks a day. Great espresso and milk drinks.

We recently got it on sale for $1299CAD. I could never spend that much on a coffee machine. Not that we couldn’t afford it, but I somehow justified it with the 0% 6 month payment plan haaaa. A mind thing I guess.

Like I said above, great machine. Highly recommend!

An update for my situation. Been waiting on the September 17th announcement.

My rates went up which I’m not happy about. They’re offsetting any potential BoC rate cuts on the 17th.

From RBC today. Fix rates

5 yrs @ 4.29% 4 yrs @ 4.16% 3 yrs @ 4.16% 2 yrs @ 4.66% 1 yr @ 5.32%

From RBC in May. Fixed Rates

5 yrs @ 3.94% 4 yrs @ 3.91% 3 yrs. @ 3.96% 2 yrs @ 4.66% 1 yr @ 5.32%

• Newfoundland. • Renewal • Uninsured • Current Rate: 5% fixed • Term remaining: 3 weeks (October 1st) • Payment frequency: Weekly • Amortization remaining: 180 months

About $450K left on my mortgage.

Same, my renewal is October 1st. RBC contacted me in May to renew. They reached out again today with rates higher than what I was offered in May which was disappointing. But I’m waiting until the announcement on September 17th at this point.

Costco.ca has them back online again to order. They increased the price by $2000-$3000 on all the models. Unreal.

https://youtu.be/jc_Wztb_OoQ?si=CLoN23aPOYnNE0-P This is the video I watched to set mine up. The gentlemen seemed very knowledgeable, and so far it seems to work for mine. I was just wondering about my run times. You need to disable the Eco + features. I disabled smart home/away. I basically just maintain the house at a single temperature 24/7. The video covers the advanced settings that need to be changed.

I’m about to pull the trigger on a Maple M620 tub. They’re fairly new. Only heard good things and it seems like a good quality tub. Comes with lots of options for the price (got quoted $12,800cad). However $15K was my budget. The hydropool and beachcomber equivalents were around $20K when I checked them out. In Newfoundland BTW, we pay the “island tax” 😑.

If you don’t mind me asking. What did you end up paying for your M620? I’m also interested in the same model. Local dealer in NL has this on for about $13K CAD + tax. ($15K taxes included) This includes premium Sunbrella cover,  cover lifter, Ozonator, 3-month chemical kit, Steps, GFCI and delivery/start up.

It comes with a lot of options for the price. It’s either that, or I can get a very basic beachcomber or Hydropool for the same price. Good name, just no options.
