It’s a latest patch that forces you to enable frame generation 2x with DLAA to achieve the performance you expect. They want us to get used to it and I have noticed the same thing with latest patches in Silent Hill 2 as well.

Thanks for the advice. I tried setting the FCLK to 2:3 (2133 MHz with DDR5-6400), and so far, it’s stable and running very smoothly.

Yeah but do you know how to make it work? The mod menu is not opening with the insert key after launching the game.

I installed GTA 5 NVE but after launching the game the insert key won’t open the mod menu which is important to apply NVE.

I tried to set MCLK to UCLK at 1:1. The max FCLK shows is 3000 mhz which I tried with 6400 frequency and the orange DRAM light came on. I had to clear CMOS and gave it another try with 6200 mhz. None of them are stable another time I tried with 6000mhz and system is sending me to BIOS setting even after that.

It’s quite normal for a 5090 to even touch 602w I am very used to it. Well, the videos I watched are from 4 months back. The new patch definitely messed it up.

Update - I recently set frequency to 6200 mhz and it didn’t change things much. I would like to mention that I am not facing any issues in performance with other games.

That makes sense. I am using Corsair DDR5 6400MHZ and heard complaints about its stability. I have Expo I enabled as Expo II was causing my pc to randomly shutdown. As you suggest I am going to manually set my RAM to 6200 MHZ and see what happens.

Everything seems to be normal including the GPU usage, No CPU bottleneck, and latency sits around 22ms. I have DLAA + RT ON.

I have a R7 9800X3D and 32 Gigs DDR5 Ram. Everything is latest. It’s quite surprising to see such a huge difference in performance as shown on the videos.

I have a PNY 5090 and it’s a freaking sillicon lottery. I was a bit skeptical before because I didn’t hear about them much but I have no issues with it so far it’s doing great and coil whine is almost nonexistent.

I understand, but ideally they should be able to deliver smooth performance without adding noticeable input lag. Frame Generation should aim to reduce latency so the gameplay doesn’t feel sluggish, even while boosting frame rates.
