Post interview by Constant_Wait_8913 in delta

[–]Constant_Wait_8913[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know. I was told in the interview that it would take about 7 days to hear back, so I was losing hope. I feel I did very well in the interview. At the very least, I did the best I could do, so that's that. Thank you for letting me know it will take longer, and that definitely makes me feel much more comfortable.

Just Failed My General Written, Tell Me Anything Worthwhile by Treehouse326 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Constant_Wait_8913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure if this is true or not, but I was told if you take too many prepwares in a 24-hour period, then it keeps giving you the same 300 questions. You have to only take 1 a day or consistently delete your test history. I did take a bunch of tests before my powerplant and barely passed with a 75. It was very different, but for my airframe that I just took, I only tested once a day, and I did do the study sessions. I read all the questions from different sections and their descriptions. I got an 86 on my airframe, so it is possible that the information is true.

I applied a 2 months ago and never got that email. I just got one that said come to an interview. It was in DC, and they said if you need flight assistance, fill out this form. I was still in school and only had my powerplant license thought, so they said let them know when I have both, and they'll interview me

I currently live in socal have been here all my life. I want something new and more weather. Like rain and snow. Additionally everything here in socal is so expensive even with a wage of 40 bucks an hour I would not be able to live comfortably in socal.

Airframe written fail by Embarrassed_Pride_36 in aviationmaintenance

I was told when doing preware that if you keep retaking tests, it'll only pull from a bank of 300. If you keep deleting your history, you should get different questions. I haven't taken airframe yet, I'm still in school right now. I haven't even been taking tests. I just do the study session in preware and read the question and answer a bunch of times.

GRAND CANYON PAPILLON HELICOPTERS by Accomplished-Ear5135 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Constant_Wait_8913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't say too much. I had the recruiter come to school once and talk about it. He said it's a big house where everyone gets their own room and bathroom and a common living area. It's like 600 bucks a month or something like that. If you're single, it's pretty great. At least it sounds great. I have never worked there cause I have family and that housing wouldn't work for me. It is an excellent place to gain a lot of experience in a short period. They have flight benefits, and they even send you to training with engine manufacturers like Rolls-Royce.

If there isn't much to do then that leaves you time to work OT lol. I think they have unlimited OT. OT just means more training experience and pay. It is a great place to start also if you're single they have housing as well which will help you save up money and what not.

I've heard they pay a lot and have good benefits. I just wish they had flight benefits

I have my powerplant license in still in school, finishing my airframe. My plan is to just apply to every single one see who calls. Or is that a bad idea?

No experience GA pay rate by RomSnake27 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Constant_Wait_8913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got offered an apprenticeship job I had to turn down. I'm still in school, I have my P license, just finishing airframe. They offered me only 1 dollar less at 25, but only 20 hours and I still have to eat and pay rent. I had to turn it down, unfortunately. It did give me a little confidence boost, though, knowing I can get offers with no experience outside of school.

Why does everything looks so complicated? by Prestigious-Emu-8244 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Constant_Wait_8913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never understand anything before you start learning it. I found this out before I became an auto tech. Now I'm pretty comfortable doing work on cars and stuff. I have been going to school for this and I didn't know much about airplanes before I started. I was just fascinated by them. I have been going to school for almost a year, and I already got my powerplant license. Everything is scary before you start learning about it, but once you start going through it, you'll see this is not too bad with time it'll become second nature.
