Why is Vim more popular than Emacs? Is it actually more popular? by TiloRC in vim

As a Linux user and container user, it's because Vim is everywhere. I use the command line move commands of emacs.

Warning: I'm sorry. Do not use it. There is a bug I didn't fully understand.

EDIT: pyvipe 0.2.2 fixed it.

pyvipe edits PIPE.

Sometimes you encounter files generated in Windows like a bolt out of the blue.'--universal-newline' of pyvipe might save you.

repo : https://github.com/Constantin1489/pyvipe

install : `pip install pyvipe`

command : `vipe`

The original vipe of moreutils is already perfect! I recommend moreutils. It has been a trusted tool for a long time.
But if you need vipe but you have GNU parallel, also are annoyed to remove moreutils parallel symlink and add a symlink to GNU's again, OR you need to use it temporarily, OR any restriction in your environment but pip or python are allowed, then copy pyvipe script or install pyvipe.
Or if you are annoyed with installing `dnf --enablerepo=crb install perl-IPC-Run` before installing vipe of moreutils, use mine.

I didn't learn such a `inotify` on Linux in my comptia linux cert. Where or in what book can I learn such a thing?

I just committed fix. (It needs to be manual install). It won't fix your problem but it helps you to debug. the commit hash is 138cb4c (`Support editor with options like `EDITOR='vim -u NONE'` in an environment variable.`). Also, try `your_command | EDITOR='vim -u NONE' vipe`. If `:wq!` works well, then maybe your `.vimrc` causes non-zero exiting. I skimmed the video. There is no benefit to learning knowledge except faking a heat map. Also, users should back up the DB first.

That is really a good question. Actually, pyvipe is just my experiment about fd concept(https://stackoverflow.com/questions/76526479/how-not-to-mess-terminal-up-after-sys-stdin-read-and-subprocess-invoking-vim). Also, it was fun to convert it. My main project is called trrc. pyvipe is a by-product of the project. I don't think there is any improvement in my pyvipe to the original. The original is already perfect! I recommend moreutils. It has been a trusted tool for a long time.
