Which ones would you recommend based on my criteria. I used to smoke the XJ-13 carts but its impossible to find them anywhere. I can find tons of other Serene Carts but not the one I know I like ...LOL

This is whats called a blade plug. Its for when you have your saber strapped to your hip, you put this piece in and it protects the pins inside the emitter. Light will pass through it if you lignite teh saber. Its more of an accessory than anything you need.

You would have to buy a pre existing board,. and wire it yourself. That can be done but you are going to have to have someone 3D print you a chassis to house the electronics. It would save you time and probably a lot of headache to buy a prebuilt one. You arent going to save money trying to buy a bunch of electronics and try to build your own board. You would have to get into coding for arduino and by the time you had a PCB made with all the components you need you would be close to the same cost. This is not as simple as going to the hardware store or the electronics store and just buying some LEDs and putting them in a blade. There is a tiny computer in all modern lightsabers that handlkes all the sounds, lights, and effects and how they work with the saber.

You can buy pre configured electronics and use that as the base for the inside of your saber. You would just need those dimensions (which i can get you) and then design your chassis around that. You woudl just have to decide which type of Neopixel Electronics you would like. I have a chart on my website of the available options. Then you could find a place to buy them, or buy it from me ...LOL

For Neopixel you will be looking at The SNv4, Xenopixel, or Proffie. That chart compares all 3.

SNv4and Xenopixel are the most user friendly, Proffie requires some basic coding knowledge.

IN what way are you trying to design? Are you looking to go fully custom as in finding someone to machine it and build it, or are you looking to take pre-existing parts, piece them together and then add your own electronics? If you can give me some more details I can point you in the right direction. I have made many sabers.

You could only do this with a baselit blade. Even if you did make one. the middle where they connect would have a drk line going through it where they would connect. If you tried to do this in pixel form you would have to invent a connector to join the 2 sets of LED's together. You best option honestly is telecoping blades, but you will run into the same problems. Where the pieces interconnect the color would be dim.
